  1. You do a crackin build George!? (Sorry Geoff!)
  2. Negative camber? How else are you going to make this beast handle?
  3. The wipers mounted to the windshield frame and the tire bulge for me. Very impressive work though, I was ready to be wrong.
  4. I think it is a model, but then I've been wrong before!
  5. I actually recognised the wheels first, they were obviously DAF, the body work looked like Zagato to me so I searched on that basis, wrong coach builder but it found me an image. It is a pity it didn't go into production, I think it is gorgeous. Really makes you appreciate how talented people like Michelotti are, they take the most unpromising subjects and make them beautiful. The stock DAF 55 was narrow and tall, with a short wheelbase, he worked round all that to produce the Siluro, sheer genius.
  6. Love the headlights, quad lights on a custom of this era can often look clumsy but these look perfect. Well done.
  7. I am on vacation in France at the moment, sadly there are few old cars are in daily use. Previously, if you saw a 2cv or a Mehari, it would be a very rough local car or more likely a Dutch registered visitor. The Dutch love the "Duck" as they call it. This year there seem to be a lot more French registered 2cv variants about, maybe they have turned the corner at last. Yesterday I saw a restored Citroen Traction Commercial (the worlds first hatchback?) being used to transport wine to a market. I bought some of course! It is very difficult to modify cars legally in France, but when you have so many cool stockers, do you need to?
  8. That was exactly my excuse! I'd seen it before and the only thing I remembered was"Australian". Lucky me. Ace Garageguy, that shows how out of touch I am, I thought the LS range was iron blocked. I stopped reading the new car press about 20 years ago, I have some catching up to do. ps What is all this liter business? We all know there ain't no substitute for cubic inches
  9. Yeah, I think they got a little carried away with the front end, it could lose 12 to 18 inches in my opinion. Keep the hood length but reduce the bulk of the fenders and the wheelbase a little. Does anybody know anything about the engine? It is described as a 5.7 litre DV1 alloy V8 and looks like a Chevrolet. ( I'm sure I saw mention of a 350 Chev on one website) Not up to speed on GM these days, but I'm fairly sure they don't do a stock alloy blocked V8. Is it their own lump or is it an after market piece? The inter web seems a bit light on detail regarding the Devaux, so I'm hoping someone on here knows.
  10. I found it by doing an image search for "aerodynamic red coupe 1930's" it was way down the page.
  11. Haha! That's what I mean.
  12. Don't give up too soon, it can be found with an imaginative search phrase.
  13. During this era, Chrysler sold various European models in the US as Dodges or Plymouths. In a different world, this could have been a Dodge Charger!
  14. For you, maybe but you made the rest of us grunt a bit?
  15. I think this proves the "ugly is only skin deep" argument, this gorgeous 1951 Allemano Berlinetta, styled by Michelotti is built on the same cast alloy chassis.
  16. Perfect for a bit part in Cars 3.
  17. To identify or to look at? Ugly is only skin deep, it has a beautiful personality?
  18. Oh , I didn't spot the hyphen! Sorry 'bout that.
  19. Was that a small, used car lot or a used car lot that didn't get much custom, or a car lot that sold little used cars? Whatever, at least you bought the car, I always found reasons not to buy them.
  20. I started my search with Renault and Panhard for the same reason, I also searched "dog cart" for the body type, but none of that got me anywhere. Eventually I went for early automobile, and there it was.
  21. Hi Ken, trying to PM you but apparently you are unable to receive messages. Is your post box full? Dave Sorry, hadn't clicked on " refresh" so didn't see all the similar posts. I am using an iPad if that is relevant.
  22. Oh, come on Ken, even I'm not old enough to remember this one! Dave
