  1. More gizmos added to turntable. I have no earthly idea what these are for, but they show up on many photos. Still not finished with this area yet.
  2. I just recently discovered that WWP does a book on the Flak 30/38, as does Ryton, so those will be "must haves" somewhere down the line; preferably sooner than later. These books may not only prove valuable for this effort, but for my 20mm single as well.
  3. Work continues (at a snails pace), with these gussets and weld seams being added. Once I take the soldering iron to them, they'll looks lots better.
  4. Yep, child like impatience got the better of me, but it certainly won't happen again (I hope).
  5. I have a similar dilemma; every single car that I feel like working on right now, needs money spent to proceed, that I just don't have available at this time. To solve the dilemma, I'm resuming work on my (temporarily abandoned) 1:6 scale Dragon Flak 38, here. This I can finish, without spending a dime (I think).
  6. Generally, I try to avoid going more than 5 high, depending on the individual weights, but fortunately, I have (3) 4'x8' plywood shelves for storage, so area coverage is not a major concern,.. yet.
  7. I just spent the better part of two hours on this GSL XXV Fotki site, looking at all the cars. I lost track of the page, but yours was there somewhere. I recognized it from here. Good job on your win, looks real cool.
  8. I completely trashed the paint job on my 32 Vicky, now have to completely strip it and start over. Darn shame too, as it was really looking sweet.
  9. I was able to spray my 32 Vicky today; I’m thrilled to pieces. (I’m starting to think that painting car bodies could become an obsession unto itself.)
  10. I have the same problem with several kits, Clayton; perhaps the worst being a partial 1:72 U-Boat bunker I started a couple of years ago. Finding room to display some of my larger projects, is going to be a bit of a challenge, for sure.
  11. Very cool indeed. I think doing a wreck or derelict, is probably a lot more tricky than doing a straight car, but if done well, can look really nifty.
  12. Had one, but sold it. I've seen two that were built so far, one of which was very nice; it showed up here at the IPMS nationals in St Louis, back in 1991.
  13. No problem at all, Lee. I discovered a similar site a few months back, offered my input (on their facelook site), and have heard,... nothing, not a peep.
  14. I had to miss the St Louis based MVVA model car show/swap meet today, and that's very irksome to me. Now I have to wait for the October show.
  15. Yea, that chrome band behind the radiator does seem to show up on lots of Vickies, but not all, with many of the street rods not having them.
  16. Cool with me. Thanks again.
  17. OK, Lee, but that's the only way to communicate with them, as far as I know.
  18. More fantastic stuff from Vince (vintagedragcrazy). Thanks a ton,.Vince, I appreciate it so much. I'm already churning away on the Vicky.
  19. Not that that's not an intresting bit of information, Dennis, as it is, but I was actually referring to what appeared to be a chrome band around the spare tire. (See post above.)
  20. Must be an optical illusion then. I could have sworn there was a chrome ring in the photo above (post #11), but after now looking at your other photos (I've got your Vicky bookmarked), it certainly appears not to have it. Odd how photos can trick the eye.
  21. I only flip-flop about once a week. In all seriousness, I have the attention span of a gnat. It’s not unusual at all for me to be extremely passionate about a subject one day (whatever that subject may be), then a week later, I really couldn’t care less. It’s an affliction I’ve been fighting (and losing) for years and years. Passion and zeal are frequently trumped by new or renewed interests.
  22. I do the best I can with the model in the default scales of 1:24 and 1:25, and call it a day. Once I step up to a couple of 1:16 and 1:8 scale kits, I'll probably jam in as much detail as I'm capable of. Like many here who are getting older, the eyesight just isn't what it used to be, so I use magnifiers when and where needed, or just don't worry about it. Superdetailing chassis and engine compartments is not my thing at all, so that certainly saves me some grief.
  23. OK, Túlio , thanks. (Your Vicky came up several times doing a Google web search for images.) I think I'll go with the stock kit piece, but painted black as you have done. I also see what appears to be a chrome trim ring on yours, but my kit has no such ring. Was that added by you?
  24. Not at all. I think it looks pretty cool, I'm just trying to figure out how to paint it. If it's supposed to be fabric, I don't want to paint it with the same metallics I'll be using on the body is all, as I think that would look pretty silly.
