  1. OK, fellas, I have a dilemma (the first of many I imagine). I just started working on a 32 Vicky (AMT kit), and I’m curious about the spare tire arrangement. Was this a hard case, bag, combination of both, or what? It’s very difficult to tell from the way the parts are molded, how the original might have been configured, and Google has been of no help at all. Thanks a bunch,
  2. I love this. What a cool car. Nice job. I certainly hope a few of mine turn out this nice.
  3. Any specifics as to paint used; type, brand, color, etc.?
  4. It certainly won't be me. I may just be old, but I really don't get the whole hydraulic "thing".
  5. Keep in mind too, that there is a difference between real and nominal dimension lumber.
  6. I wish I had seen this earlier, as I would have heartily recommended balsa foam instead of that pink stuff for the building, as it’s much easier to scribe and sculpt. Your scene looks truly excellent though, very, very nice.
  7. It's an utterly gorgeous day here today, so I've just been out sitting on the deck, cleaning road wheels. Here's the first set of sixteen middle wheels. Quite a pain in the rump, but necessary. Now it’s back to the sixteen inners and outers,… maybe.
  8. I think the "Dream Rod" also had a similar rotating base.
  9. I do like that color. I like the high resolution photos too.
  10. Agreed. I saw the question, but have no definitive answer. I'd imagine to arch the bed specifically, you'd have to cut bend relief notches in the side frames, arch it as needed, then glue and putty to finish it off. I have the same trailer, and potentially the same problem, and if I decide to pursue a modification (which I probably won’t), that’s what I’d do.
  11. I didn't even know it existed until today, but it looks ideal for doing a Pacific diorama type display.
  12. I have every intention of getting them new, even if I have to pay a premium to do so. I'm sure I'm quite capable of messing it up all by myself.
  13. It's a very cool site. For a while, I collected 1:72 scale Hawk model airplane boxes. Most are gone now, but I intend to reacquire most of them again.
  14. A scale difference of such minor consequence, has never affected my decision to buy or build something.
  15. I just heard that some kits I traded for are on their way; I'm tickled silly.
  16. Me too. I already have a base that's pretty much ready to go (designed for an aborted 1:35 Russian JS-2), so that part will be pretty easy. If I had the engine deck screens, I'd be painting this already. Where I'll probably go nuts with details, will be when I tackle my Academy 1:25 Jagdpanther kit.
  17. Thanks for the comments, guys, I appreciate it.
  18. I'll have a couple of those 1:16 kits eventually. I'd really like to take a stab at the 55 Nomad.
  19. No time, G. I'm already working on about six projects now, all of which I'd like to have done for our regional here in September, otherwise it might be pretty cool. And I agree with the base notion; armor, in particular, really needs a proper base to look the part. I'd like to do mine as a destroyed version, as depicted in the Panzerwrecks books.
  20. I was finally able to finalize my design of a combination model display area/corkboard wall covering to go behind my bed.
