  1. I don't know why not. He seems to be into anything odd or different. My original thought was to do a large base with a depiction of the scene on the box, but that'll absolutely have to wait until I have some available space to display it.
  2. Yep, seems like something I'll probably avoid doing.
  3. So that's where those lyrics came from;... amoebawha, amoebawha, amoebawha,...
  4. Good question, Eric, and thanks for the info. The car was sold years ago to a father/son team that intended to roadsterize it. Whether they did or not, I have no idea. The son already had a '32ish roadster that he routinely displayed at local and regional car shows, and intended to eventually show this one as well. The car was moved annually from our carport to a spot in the back yard (making space under the carport for grilling and entertainment in the nicer months), then moved back to the carport during the winter. It was at our house for many, many years. (I specifically recall getting the holy daylights stung out of me by yellow jackets one summer. They had been nesting under the dash, and I was unaware of that. Playing "driver" in the car, I apparently disturbed them, and they came after me with a bloody vengeance.)
  5. Looks real nice. You built this puppy fast too.
  6. Sort of. As I recall, not much of the interior was shown in the movie, but PL did give some basic stuff to add to the saucer section, as well as the Robby the Robot.
  7. Though I can't answer your question, I'm after a '74 Pinto myself, and will probably grab an MPC kit one of these days. I had a real '74, and just loved that little car to death.
  8. Perhaps the most unusual kit I do currently own, is the Polar Lights 1:72 scale C-57D from the movie "Forbidden Planet". Unusual not so much for its subject matter, but because of its size. Measuring out at 28" in diameter (7' - 4 1/4" in circumference), it's one of the largest model kits in my stash. Whether or not I'll ever actually build it is questionable.
  9. Again, I never bought a set (yet), but this is rather unusual, and I'll have a set (or two) eventually.
  10. Though I don't currently own any, years ago, LS made 1:1 scale gun and weapon kits. I had several.
  11. Yep, Bachmann made some. I had a few when I was younger, as I had a real passion for birds.
  12. Totally weird. I had forgotten all about this kit.
  13. That's certainly a thought. It's odd, but there is not one single kit available that depicts any car that I've ever owned, in a stock version, not one. Perhaps I've just owned odd and/or unpopular cars.
  14. Once again, yet another car I've owned that there appears to be no kit of.
  15. Yea, Tom, the bumper was like a picnic bench all right. Great for holding a cold drink and tools while working under the hood though.
  16. The blue on the body is terrific, what brand/color name is it?
  17. OK, thanks very much, Jeff. Now that you said that, I noticed that the 71 had corner lights (for lack of a better term) on the front end, whereas the 73 did not. I wonder if anyone ever produced a kit? I'm Googling now, but it's not looking very hopeful.
  18. Is this a '71 Chevy Impala? This is one car that believe it or not, I forgot I had owned, until I saw this photo tonight. Body was beat up pretty bad, but it ran great, as far as I recall. I'd like to a model of it, painted up as I would have done it, had I had the funds at the time.
  19. Not the same car I realize, but I thought you'd appreciate this nonetheless. My father (behind the wheel), picked this up to restore, but unfortunately never did. It sat at our house for years, and I used to play in it when I was a youngster. This is one of but a very few photos that remain of this car, though there were more at one time. It's a '27 "T" I think, though that may not be correct.
  20. Way cool. I remember building this kit when I was a little tyke. I'll have to grab another kit.
  21. I spent gobs of time two nights ago, looking at 2014 event photos. I saved a few photos as idea references. Some mighty fine looking stuff in there.
  22. Exactly what I have in mind for the Mustang-GT funny car; a tribute to my original intent. I'll be eyeballing this, to be sure.
