  1. One of the very few photos I have of a car I built as a kid. I have others, this is just the only one I have readily available. Photo by my father, and I was probably 14 or so at the time, I really don't recall.
  2. They can build it if they like, but I certainly won't be getting one,... ever.
  3. OK, I just finished going through all 13 pages of this thread, and have gleaned some wonderful ideas from what I've seen. I’ve also seen some things I absolutely want to avoid (just personal taste), and look very much forward to working on some models from this era.
  4. Good start. I have an old Monogram Harrier around here somewhere. Cool airplane.
  5. Yes. Hanging is another decent option.
  6. I think the 32 Vicky will be my next project;... I love that car.
  7. Agreed. Real nice work on those castings.
  8. I like the Mystic Emerald a lot. I have a can sitting here in fact, for a Peterbilt 359 I'll be spraying soon.
  9. Nice color,... very nice. I'm glad to hear you're healing well from the burn.
  10. Right. No tennis court either, how cheap.
  11. Great. I'll look forward to seeing this develop.
  12. I like it.
  13. Odd thing about the interior, the rear window cranks could not possibly rotate 360°, as they'd bang into the trim pieces. Also, several key items have been omitted entirely; ignition, turn signal lever, hood release, and emergency brake, let alone attachment points for front seat safety belts. I'll probably add all that to my next T/A, but I won't bother on this one.
  14. Looks real cool so far.
  15. While I was already painting something else, I went ahead and sprayed the rear end black, as I had forgotten to do it before. The black I'm using may have become contaminated; airbrush is spitting out tiny blobs of crud that are marring the overall smoothness. I may strip this and redo it.
  16. Threw a wash in the radiator grille, and I think it looks OK. Not real happy with the Challenger logo though; I used a silver pencil instead of chrome silver paint.
  17. Trying something that I normally wouldn't do to a car model; I've added a wash around door latches and corner markers. Not real sure if I'm happy with it or not.
  18. Hard to see, given the poor lighting, but I've painted the radiator grill now, as well as the lower light housings (these will be Alclad aluminum, with amber lenses.
  19. Can't say that I ever saw the movie, but I like what you're doing here so far.
  20. Nice project. I like the older Camaro styling.
  21. You make me feel like a snail. You're really flying on this. Nice color too.
  22. Yep, most of the stuff I built when I was a kid, looked like they were built by a kid. My Big Deuce was sprayed with a Pactra metalflake green, but I left the frame and engine block bare yellow plastic.
  23. I think I just got lucky, Jeremy. I wish the blue had been applied a bit more evenly, but overall, I'm pretty pleased with the results so far.
