  1. Interesting idea for the seats,... I like it.
  2. I saw a beautiful older Mercedes convertible today, sort of a bluish gray metallic color; top down, windows up, it was very nice looking.
  3. There will be a group build (possibly) starting in a few months on another site, of "what if" projects. My idea is to do a WWII Bf 109 in WWI Jasta 21 markings, as if the aircraft technology had changed, but the garish colors and schemes had not. Picture this Jasta 21 scheme (image snatched from the WWW), superimposed on the 109, and you get the picture.
  4. If the timing works out OK this year, I'll be doing a "what if" 1:32 Bf 109G-4, in WWI Jasta 21 markings.
  5. Oh yes, it's very nice, though not without a few accuracy issues. Next up from them (HK Models), is a 1:32 Lancaster. Insane. Where's the 109 GB taking place?
  6. I hadn't even noticed that. It is a bit different; I wonder why they left it off.
  7. You bet. Virtually nothing in the way of germs and cooties, can survive an immersion in bleach.
  8. I've tried something a little different here, (for me that is). Side markers have had the small rectangular portion painted a dark red, with clear red applied to the rest. This seem to more accurately mimic the real McCoy.
  9. Thanks, fellas, I certainly appreciate the comments. Well, I've stripped the hood (spoiler too, as it also looked pretty grubby), wet sanded and polished, and have now primed with white lacquer. The hood is such a large black expanse up front, that it really needs to look right. I've also drilled tiny holes for the hold down/safety cables that will be added later;... not really accurate by any means, but I think it'll look OK.
  10. Cool project, cool movie. Good luck.
  11. Regarding the Brassin stuff, though I don't currently own any, I've read really good stuff about a lot of it. I too have a Monogram B-17G, with all of the True Detail interior components for it. I'm intending to do it as a 50/50, so as to get more mileage from it.
  12. Is the Challenger in the background the one you just recently finished, or a new one?
  13. I gave this some thought, and I really don't know what I'd call it.
  14. Awesome model, G, the best 109's on the market, as I hear it. Sooner or later, I'll be grabbing an E-4.
  15. It's an idea that I "liberated" from you, Joe, the difference being that I'll most likely sandwich them to disks that have been covered with BMF, eliminating the need to metalize the headlight sockets.
  16. Headlights are now more or less finished. I believe I'll clean these up and cast more clear copies, as I'll eventually be doing at least one R/T, and one R/T convertible, as well as another T/A. They should look OK against a background disk of BMF.
  17. Thanks, Jeremy, I'm glad you like it. I really probably shouldn't be doing this just yet, but I couldn't resist beginning to add some BMF.
  18. There is a decal on my sheet too, Joe, but until you said that, I had no idea it was there.
  19. What a cool old magazine, I remember them well.
  20. Bumpers, rear and side view mirrors, fan, spoiler and hood all painted black. Hood looks horrible and will have to be redone, as many sanding marks show, a result of not polishing after I removed the extra hood pins, combined with the fact that my airbrush was spitting out globs of crud by that time.
  21. Great transaction with Vince (vintagedragcrazy) completed;... received two cars exactly as described, plus some really cool bonus stuff. Thanks a ton, Vince.
  22. If I don't find anything else first, that 1:20 AMX, might just be the next one on my "to do" pile.
