  1. I can certainly relate. In my case, a couple of gallons of coffeine a day doesn't help either.
  2. Nice GTX. I just watched an episode of Counting Cars last night, that featured an absolutely gorgeous '71 Roadrunner. Camaro is looking real good.
  3. Interesting project. I like the stock wheels though.
  4. It's been years since I watched "The 300 Spartans", I may have to rent it soon. A fine gollywood tale of the battle of Thermopylae.
  5. Sounds like you have it under control then. I'll be eyeballing this.
  6. Yet another trailer, this time the AMT flatbed. (I’m beginning to think I like the trailers better than the trucks!) All things considered, AMT did a pretty good job on this, and with care, it has the potential to look really great.
  7. Engine now more or less done. No wiring, throttle linkages or fuel lines will be added. Lousy photo, but it shows what's been done, which isn't much.
  8. Thanks, Tom. 3 clear coats will probably be my limit. I'm starting to feel the time crunch already, just to finish in time.
  9. I think it's great to see an old project resurrected. Good luck.
  10. I'm probably in the minority, but I just don't find the fender-less cars very appealing. I might be tempted to grab one for parts though.
  11. I'm darned lucky not to have any hearing issues. I've played the drums for eons, wearing headphones while the receiver was cranked up all the time.
  12. Looks cool. I have a buddy that's wanting a 1:350 carrier real bad. I'll probably buy him the Tamiya Enterprise this year for Christmas.
  13. I sent this link to a died in the wool Star Trek nut. He's been wanting to add a dedicated lighting kit to one of his own ships. Looking great so far.
  14. Have you considered using wooden dowel rods for the upper portions of the masts? I've seen on several ship models of this nature (including a few of my own) where the masts bowed out of shape after tensioning was altered by humidity and such. Beeswax helps some, but it's no guarantee against deformation.
  15. Some more detailing added; bolt heads, weld seams, casting marks, brackets, etc.
  16. OK, thanks. That makes sense. I've viewed this several times, and debated asking, but my curiosity finally got the better of me. I think the suggestion Richard has made, is about as simple as it gets. I have a fairly large stash of mechanical drawing pencils here, with leads graded from 4H to B, so I can always find something that will work. Also, as it turns out, I'm quite an avid (some might say rabid), aviation nut, with gobs of aviation references. If you should need specific photo references, please don't hesitate to ask, and I'll try to help out if I can.
  17. Perhaps hard to tell from this photo, but I stripped and redid the taillight assembly. I think it looks much better now.
  18. Looking real good so far, I'm sure your father will be pleased.
  19. I believe this may be one he's referring to?
  20. Interesting; at two different times in my life, I've owned both a '66 and '85 Grand Prix. I'd love to recreate the '66 one day.
  21. Whoa! That green looks just great, real nice shade.
  22. At this point I have to ask (and I'm not trying to be snotty), why do the exhausts look like that? I've never seen a P-40B that had exhausts like that before.
  23. Thanks, fellas, I appreciate it. I've decided to go ahead and strip the taillight too, as in my haste to finish it, I sort of messed it up. I like the general idea of what I was trying to achieve, just not the method.
  24. That blue looks excellent. Model car painting has been fascinating me for a while now. The right colors (and their application), can make or break a model, to my eye.
  25. i love the paint, looks great.
