  1. One area that’s come to my attention as being dead wrong on the Monogram kit, is the area of the front fender to valance interface, so I’ve puttied up the offending area, and will re-contour, adding a scribed or drawn on delineator later.
  2. Years ago I built this Mustang. When the kit was reissued (at least I think it's supposed to be the same kit), it appears that the body is slightly different (no louvers on roof side), and wheels are not the same. Is this correct? I haven't seen the kit first hand, and web photos of box are pretty much useless to me, as are searches for the kit contents. Newer kit I'm referring to.
  3. Thanks for the comments, fellas, I'll be on the watch for the problem you discussed. I haven't yet opened the kit, so had no idea the cab was split.
  4. One more to add to my slowly growing pile. Some here have implied this is a great kit, so I figured what the heck. My first (and probably only) COE.
  5. Looks just great! I'll probably "liberate" a few of your ideas from this effort. I hope mine turns out as well, and if so, I'll be tickled silly.
  6. I didn't think I'd like those wheels on this car, but it works really well.
  7. What a classic. I may have to look into getting one of these. Looks great so far.
  8. I really like that Dart Hemi, Clayton.
  9. I'm living a rather nomadic lifestyle right now, so the overwhelming majority of my most frequently used tools, are stored in readily accessible tackle boxes, with paints, pastels and other weathering media, all being housed in small boxes by type.
  10. OK, thanks for that, Steve. I'll check the other site you mentioned. I may or may not be the norm here, but I'm pretty particular when it comes to colors.
  11. I already did that;... now I have problems sitting down.
  12. I really like that body style. Considering grabbing a Revell kit (GTX) soon in fact.
  13. When the weather permits, I use a light box outdoors, and I've been using the same small Nikon Coolpix 5400 for several years now. The combination of the light box and outdoor shooting, can yield some great results. The photo below (1:32 Bf 110 wheels) is a typical result, using that method. Sooner or later though, I’ll buy some floods to use inside with the light box.
  14. Interesting site, but I really wish they had illustrations of the colors, and not just descriptions.
  15. Body finally in light gray sandable primer. My first impressions are that body is fairly straight, though I did spot a couple of small "issues". The light gray certainly makes the mistakes pop, and that's why I like it.
  16. Are you referring to the new fender-less job that's on the way?
  17. Good on you. I've been puffing away for many years.
  18. Looking very nice. I like everything about it.
  19. I could go for one of those can crushers. My roommate and myself go through gobs of cans every month, and compressing them would make much more efficient use of space while they await a trip to the recycler.
  20. Until I sprayed the gray, I hadn't realized that there are floor mats molded into the front area! As to accuracy, who knows, but it seemed better than black on black on black.
  21. You're far more ambitious than I would be. I'll be looking forward to more.
