  1. Thanks. I'm fairly pleased with the way things are coming along, but I still have a lot to learn.
  2. Exhaust manifolds all painted up and awaiting dull coat; probably pointless though, as they'll never be seen.
  3. Chrome items are more or less finished, but I'll probably strip both bumpers and redo.
  4. Agreed, more photos would be great.
  5. The Cutty Sark and Constitution, have been on my "to do" list for a while now. I'll look forward to this.
  6. Bumpers, valve covers, gas cap, shift lever and velocity stacks all cleaned up, and given a coat of Gunze gloss black.
  7. You've got some serious guts to mask over BMF. If I did that and it went wrong (and I'm sure it would), I'd end up going all Norman Bates on the thing.
  8. Under normal circumstances this may be true, but saving money is not the issue, not having the money to spend, is.
  9. That interior color looks great.
  10. Third coat of clear, and I think this is where I'll stop. I'm pretty satisfied with this.
  11. Finally able to add some clear coat to a model today, and it looks OK, and that pleases me very much.
  12. Yep, since my car is older, and I'm "financially challenged", I only carried liability insurance, so no damage on my car was ever repaired; still covered with dents from stem to stern.
  13. After block sanding color coat last night, I added first clear coat this morning. Not too shabby I think. (I did accidentally sand through to primer in one small area though.)
  14. Rigging looks impressive. Too bad about the water experiences.
  15. Fabulous paint; I like this a lot.
  16. Awesome color; looks magnificent.
  17. Great looking color.
  18. Stock wheels, though I'll airbrush the insides, and tires will get dull coat, plus very dark gray treads.
  19. I was a bit shocked when it first went on the model. Thoughts of the old Pacta metalflake came immediately to mind. This will be a "hood closed" model, so almost nothing will be done to engine or compartment; same with the chassis. Just a simple OOB project;... getting my feet wet, as it were.
  20. It's Testors Icy Blue metallic, and man is it metallic; probably too much so for this small scale, but there's no turning back now.
  21. This lacquer dries so fast, it's amazing. Second (and probably last) color coat now done.
  22. Today I finally got to add some color to a Challenger model that I’ve been playing with for two months, and that pleases me immensely.
  23. With body now (fairly) straight, I’m finally able to add some color. This is the first coat, with perhaps one or two more to follow.
  24. Looks real good so far. I really like that table too. I tried a balsa Fw 190A one time, but didn't get too far before I lost interest.
  25. I'm working right now on a Peterbilt 359 that I started roughly 45 years ago; I hope to have it finished this year some time. On average, with no distractions, I should be able to bang out an average car model once every two months or less. A Challenger that I'm currently working on, has been going for nearly three months, but I've also worked on a lot of other stuff during that same time.
