  1. My now abandoned man cave, before I moved. How I miss that space.
  2. Yet another freebie, this time from the recipient of a raffle, and he didn't want it. I've been "Jonesing" over this kit for quite some time anyway, so my pal just gave it to me.
  3. It can be a very caring world. A few years ago, I was in the fortunate position of donating some stuff that was sent to our soldiers in Iraq, as they had requested some stuff from home to work on.
  4. OK, I've selected my colors; Testors Mystic Emerald and Blazing Black, both metallic lacquers. Assuming I don't muck it up, the scheme I'm visualizing should be quite attractive.
  5. I only anticipate building two or three big haulers, but they need something to drag around, so I swapped some stuff for this. (Thanks, Sean.)
  6. I have it in my head that the max I'm willing to spend (on mostly older-ish, non collectible, 1:24/1:25 car kits) is about $20. More than that, they can keep it.
  7. I will never have that kind of dedication,... ever.
  8. I wonder if he gets pulled over frequently?
  9. I figure late March/early April for mine.
  10. Yep, the vicious circle.
  11. I sold some hobby stuff (elsewhere) today, so now I have some funds in my PayPal account to blow on more hobby stuff.
  12. The hurt of a loss, is directly proportional to the affection enjoyed. To deprive yourself of that affection, is a loss unto itself.
  13. No problems there,... neither kit comes with figures.
  14. That makes sense. The kits do seem to be better and more comprehensively detailed, and all that additional tooling costs money.
  15. Through some very good fortune, I also received a second kit, the Flak 38 single; another beast.
  16. I've been toiling away on this big beast for the last couple of weeks or so. This is my progress to date. Not a bad kit really, but some "help" is always a good thing.
  17. Just curious, why does a 1:16 Peterbilt or Kenworth that is 1-1/2 times larger than 1:24 scale, cost 3 times as much?
  18. No reason they wouldn't. And if excess was well shaken off, should be able to paint it too (airbrush at low pressure). I may have to do a pimp car, and have the entire interior flocked.
  19. I'm glad you like it, Casey, a flash from my own past there.
  20. Thank goodness the utility bills are paid.
  21. I doubt you've offended anyone, it's just the pendulum swinging. The last four years or so have seen a radical decline in my living and financial situation, but I feel that a corner is about to be turned. Hang in there, things will get better.
  22. Bought all the ingredients for a huge cauldron of homemade chili. Perfect weather for it too.
  23. While I generally agree, Dave, motors rated as NEMA explosion proof can be very expensive. I've been using a 265 CFM squirrel cage blower with a standard TENV motor (non explosion proof) for years on my paint booth, with no problems at all, and will soon be adding a duplicate unit on the other side of my booth.
  24. Never been, though I have a friend who has done well there in the past. Maybe someday,...
