Through a trade with a fellow forumite, I was able to add this AMT '70 Challenger R/T convertible to my pile, for a future project. Interestingly, the kit also provides a hardtop.

Mustang Guys, take notice

Yes, that's Ray Walston.

Well, I'm not much of an accuracy freak (nothing wrong with that, it's just not usually a big deal to me), but the finished models I've seen, certainly look the part, and that's almost always good enough for me. Generally speaking, I think it's hard to go wrong with any of the later 1:48 Hasegawa releases. Hasegawa 1:48 Ju 87G-2

This pleased me immensely; my receiving this Dragon kit that was gifted to me by a fellow forum member from another site. I'm such a happy pup!

What non-auto model did you get today?
Roadrunner replied to chunkypeanutbutter's topic in The Off-Topic Lounge
Certainly not auto related, this was received today, the Dragon 1:6 scale 20mm Flak 38. What a very generous gesture from a forum member from another site. -
I already have one. Created for aircraft modeling, but practical for anything really.

Yes, the old 1:32 "Hi-Grade" kit is a mishmash of new fuselage (not bad), and the old Fw 190A wings (horrible, with raised panel lines and the infamous "kidney bean" wing root gun bay covers). P.E. included, as well as some white metal parts, were OK, but nothing spectacular, certainly nothing to justify the expense of the kit at the time, given the overall poor quality of what was offered. All of the wing areas were sanded smooth, re-scribed, and new gun bay doors scratched up. Additional detailing was added throughout, and the end result was then OK. Hasegawa subsequently released a 1:32 D-9 with brand new tooling, which is vastly superior to the kit I had built.

Give that man a cigar!

And yet another.

The search function for the forum software is kind of lame, no question about it. We have similar search issues on the other site I'm frequently on, and it uses almost the exact same software.

What do you drive?
Roadrunner replied to gasman's topic in General Automotive Talk (Trucks and Cars)
My daily (and only) driver, is a '95 Mercury Cougar XR7, dark green, 4.6L. Kind of beat up now (and that's an understatement), but it's been a very dependable car since I first bought it in 1999. Here's a not so great photo when it was still fairly new to me. -
My first WIP here; '70 Dodge Challenger T/A, Parts
Roadrunner replied to Roadrunner's topic in WIP: Model Cars
I appreciate the input fellas. And Joe, I too have looked at several cars from below, some restored, some not, and I'm OK with the darker color, as I have seen them both ways. Besides, as a curbside, I'm not really concerned with the bottom, nor the engine too much. Most of whatever painting I'll do, is for forum updates, a common dilemma for me. Once finished, no one (including myself) will ever look at the bottom of the car again. -
Amen, brother, a very good movie indeed. This one is probably another no brainer.

I'm sorry to say that I've never bought a copy, though I've seen them at the LHS on many occasions. Not that much into magazines anymore now.

Brush Painted Bodies
Roadrunner replied to JunkPile's topic in General Automotive Talk (Trucks and Cars)
A ghost from the past? I love it. I too sprayed dirt and crud all over my models back then, always wondering why they looked so bad. -

Real slow going here, but at least I was able to spray some wood colored acrylic base for the oils to follow. Once that’s done, painting the rest of the interior should be a snap (I think). -
I don't really mind constructive criticism at all, whether solicited or not. Non constructive criticism is a pain though, the person who believes that I'm trying to build my model to his perceived standards, when in fact I'm perfectly content with what I do. I think that's a common occurrence, the notion that everyone aspires to the same standards, when in fact, it just isn't so.

For a moment there, I thought you were referring to me.
