  1. This is outstanding. Much more work than I'd ever contemplate for a model car of my own, but still very, very cool.
  2. No problem at all. It looks great.
  3. OK, I wasn't aware of that. I drift in and out of my own car modeling, so I tend to stay away when I'm not in car mode.
  4. While not nearly all gassers had/have drag chutes (from what I can gather), I'd still like to add one, if I can find one somewhere. Speaking of the Simpson style parachutes (an industry standard, it would seem), I just discovered that they're available on Amazon, not that I'm in the market for a real one.
  5. Yet another surprise that I didn’t expect to see, a nice set of pad printed Goodyear slicks, though a bit narrow for my taste, and may be replaced.
  6. Yep, same here. I believe it's exactly the same, yes (perhaps different decals and tires though). Do it! Way too much work for me. A pal here is sending me some photos of possible replacements, so we'll see how that goes.
  7. Great, and thanks. I'll be seeking out something one way or the other. I have an image in mind, I'll just have to find something that's reasonably close to begin with, perhaps the AMT dual kit referenced above.
  8. It seems like I may have asked this before, but what are the particulars for a curbside entry? Thanks,
  9. It's supposed to be an Oldsmobile engine of some sort, but I'm not really sure what size it's supposed to be.
  10. Included decals, which really look quite nice, very much took me by surprise, as the markings depicted on the box, are really quite boring. If I opt not to use these, Model Car Roundup offers several cool alternatives.
  11. Perhaps the biggest challenge for me here, will be to find some 4:1 dump headers similar to these on this '33 Willys. I have almost nothing in the way of gasser parts, so may need to source them from somewhere. I know I'll be getting rid of the ugly "mailbox" kit intake too, for one thing.
  12. Though I have as yet not selected a specific scheme, it may well be something generic that I cook up. My biggest bit of fun, will be to do a multi-layer paint scheme, that if done correctly, should look just totally cool (I hope). We'll see, I guess.
  13. Thanks to Joe's persistent killer car models here (thanks a bunch, Joe), as well as many others, I've decided to break out my own '40 Willys (coupe) kit, and do 'er up as a gasser model. The gassers were always some of my favorites at any race event, and the '33, '40 & '41 Willys coupes were always my favorites of that lot, so here goes nothing.
  14. That's certainly a thought. Any attempt I make at an altered is "down the road" a piece, so I actually have plenty of time.
  15. All three look excellent, Joe. I don't know why the Arado would have taken so long though, as it seems like a really decent kit. I'll know more when I actually start my own, I guess.
  16. Obviously I saw this elsewhere, but its just beautiful, Joe. Real nice job, as I've come to expect.
  17. This is going to look sweet, Joe, about that I have no doubt.
  18. This particular kit comes with what appear to me to be some very narrow front tires, and the slicks are also somewhat narrow, but beautifully pad printed. I assume this represents an early gasser configuration of tires?
  19. Excellent. Thanks a bunch, fellas, I really appreciate the input. I'll have to chase down a couple of those, assuming they're not crazy expensive.
  20. I seem to recall that many, many years ago, there were some fuel altered kits available; perhaps an Anglia and a couple of others. Does anyone recall these, and more importantly, who made them? Google is of no help at all. Thanks a bunch,
  21. Telford is indeed awesome.
  22. Some mighty cool stuff there. I must confess that I really don't get the asphalt scrapers, but that's just me.
  23. OK, thanks. If anything, I may actually raise the front end some, doing sort of the reverse of what you suggest.
  24. Thanks, Rick. I'll actually be doing the coupe, and really like the nose high look.
  25. And once again I missed both shows in 2019. Hopefully 2020 will be better.
