  1. I see this kit available for a very decent price, and aside from the oddball scale, is it a decent kit? I can find virtually no information about it. Thanks a bunch, fellas,
  2. I had a '74 Pinto and loved that little car silly; good acoustics overall, great gas mileage, easy to park, good acceleration in the low end, real focused rack and pinion steering, but no muscle at all. The little sewing machine engine had a real time attaining highway speeds. If I can ever find a decent completely stock '74 kit, I'd be all over it like a dog on a pork chop.
  3. Me too, Joe. From now on, no more acrylics for this application, not by me.
  4. No, but that certainly looks real interesting. I'd love to find a stock '74, but have never seen one.
  5. I don't recall the make, but I'd like to see the wagon issued from "That 70's Show", Vista Cruiser perhaps?
  6. Fascinating discussion here, that's for sure. For me, whenever I see an old kit re-popped that really interests me, I'm tickled silly to get it, even if it's an old AMT or MPC junk kit, it's a lot better than nothing at all, at least for me.
  7. Thanks, fellas. I know I'll end up using some cross-switching of some parts, just wanted to see if the AMT dash looked appropriately R/T like or not. As far as I recollect, the Monogram T/A has a fairly accurate dash (one version anyway), for a T/A, but I don't think it's really correct for an R/T at all.
  8. Does anyone know if the AMT Challenger has an accurate interior for an R/T? I'm planning to eventually kit-bash the AMT kit with the Monogram T/A kit to recreate an accurate as possible R/T convertible, if doable. Thanks a bunch, Kevin
  9. I completely forgot one of my own rules and used acrylic instead of enamel for the wash on my grille. Whereas the acrylic I use dries as hard as a rock and and can be very difficult to remove (almost impossible sometimes), enamel thinner seems to have no negative impact on chrome at all, such as this grille from my '68 Charger.
  10. OK now, thanks to the generosity of a fella here on the forum, I’ve received a parachute pack that I can use on this kit. Much to my surprise, I actually already had one, found in this Mustang kit, of which I actually have two. I still haven’t determined which to use yet, but most certainly will select one or another, probably the one on the far left. I’ll also jury-rig a shroud line enclosure (choke sleeve) and release cable somehow too.
  11. This is looking wonderful. It seems that I had a Pinto race car model (possibly a pro stock?) at one time, but have no idea whatever became of it.
  12. I just read tonight that Revell is planning a brand new 1:48 Blackbird, and if true, I'll just have to snatch one.
  13. Excellent. Thanks a bunch, Joe, I'll have to get some of those.
  14. After a few minutes with some files, I finally got the grille to fit flush. One corner of the grille opening is still a bit messed up, but I'll be fixing that soon enough.
  15. I like the oil filter decal. Where does that come from?
  16. Interesting points. I doubt that I'll try to adjust either issue, but still good to know. The '40 Willys gasser photos that I've gathered so far, seem to be a mix of full tilt front ends and traditional hood arrangements, so I'll just go with what the kit offers.
  17. That looks excellent, Joe. I'll try to paint them first, as I don't want to spend more time on this than is absolutely necessary. (I'm also trying to finish two fighter planes for a show here in September.)
  18. My latest (a review kit for another site). I missed this the first go 'round, so it'll be nice to add it to my stash now.
  19. Engine now in primer, more than will actually show on the finished model anyway. Some tiny issues with the injector scoop that I hadn't seen previously, but those will be an easy fix, then it'll get the gloss white base coat.
  20. That much I was already aware of, as the bottle was given to me by a good pal that had already used a small portion of it on his own Cobra model, but thanks very much anyway, I certainly do appreciate any help I can get here.
  21. I really like that color, it's very similar to what I hope to use on a '40 Willys coupe that I'm working on right now.
  22. Thanks, fellas. I've been to the various sites mentioned, but as has been stated, they all leave a lot to be desired. I have a 60ml bottle of Zero sitting here (Cobra guardsman blue), and it got me wondering if they, or one of the other two, makes a really nice orange color that I'd like. Monster makes a killer paint called Pumpkiss that I'd like to use on a Willys gasser that I'm working on, but the site doesn't even say if it's a lacquer or what,... very frustrating.
  23. That's a good point, and perhaps the only explanation that makes sense. I've read that, but thanks for the suggestion. So far my new can of oven cleaner is doing the job pretty well.
  24. I have no idea what the deal is with this. I have two 1940 Willlys brochures, and neither one shows a dash that looks anywhere even close to this one. Oh well, I'll just paint it up the best I can and move on.
  25. First off, are the Monster Kolor sprays lacquer? Secondly, where in the world could I find a color chart of Zero Paints & MCW paints? Thanks a bunch,
