  1. Now I'm starting to get annoyed. I just discovered this push bar, a nice alternative to the other funky ones that are provided in the kit, after I just today filled in the slots where the other pair gets mounted. This is clearly my own fault, but still very frustrating.
  2. Not bad at all. It's strangely reminiscent of my own AMT Mustang AWB car.
  3. Model Roundup has one,... for $200! I think I'll have to pass.
  4. Just a kid that seems to do it much better than most.
  5. Next up is to prep the hood and ever so slightly round off all hood edges. I learned early on that sharp corners and edges can be the enemy of paint.
  6. For the hood, the first order of business is to fill the scribed in trench on the bottom with super glue; no need to worry about stress fractures during the paint polishing process then, when it would be too late to deal with it.
  7. I actually have the '68, but haven't yet opened it.
  8. Sorry for not being clear, I was referring to the '69 kit.
  9. Is the AMT kit at least OK, as-is?
  10. A last minute decision was made to not use the funky push bars provided in the kit, so I've now filled in those slots with .030 x .080 strips.
  11. Since this is a convertible, I'm forced to add some details that I normally wouldn't bother with; new arm rests and window cranks, as well as brake, clutch, accelerator and parking brake pedals. The interior is basically OK enough, but I feel these additions will give it more visual appeal. I may add some door speakers too, but I'm 100% sure about that yet.
  12. I like that color on this car.
  13. Yep, and that is truly annoying. I try real hard to proof my stuff before I post, but sometimes silly spelling errors and whatnot manage to get by me (and Firefox). If I catch it in time, I edit it immediately.
  14. Excellent. Thanks a bunch, John. I'll add a clutch pedal then (in addition to replacing the others).
  15. I can't say for sure if this is a manual shifter or automatic. If manual, it looks like I'll need to add a clutch pedal. Any ideas as to what's what here?
  16. This will be interesting.
  17. This is looking real good so far.
  18. Me too. I'm guessing March sometime, maybe even April.
  19. Excellent. Now the NSA can see my fingerprints from a helicopter.
  20. The SS 396 really appeals to me.
  21. I wouldn't own this thing if someone gave it to me. (I would however sell it off and buy something cool.)
  22. After numerous stripping/repainting sessions, I now believe I'm almost done. Both front wheels have somewhat minor molding boo boos that only seem to show up after painting, so I'll correct those and repaint.
  23. It certainly looks like my work won''t be as simple as originally hoped, but I'll do what I can.
