  1. What specific AMT kit is this, if I may ask?
  2. I can certainly relate, as I have several Tiger I's here myself (and will no doubt eventually buy even more).
  3. I did the same thing to one of my other cars, though I forget which one right now, perhaps my '69 GTX. I'm still considering shelving this for now and waiting to see what the new Revell kit offers. I still have plenty of other stuff to work on, that's for sure.
  4. I've now glued the hood in place. A bit premature perhaps, but I'm glad I did, as the fit is pretty lousy, requiring a fair amount of filling to really look right. I'm tempted to abandon this altogether and see what the new Revell '69 looks like. Perhaps I can just chop the top off of it to get the convertible I'm after, not real sure yet.
  5. You and me both. I'm considering the new '69 with the roof cut off to make a nice convertible.
  6. True enough. Fortunately for me, I'm not aware of all that much that really appeals to me anyway, model car wise, so the occasional purchase from HL, Model Roundup, model shows or feebay is more than enough for me. There are two local MMVA shows here every year, and from what I recall (it's been quite a while since I attended), one can sometimes find some pretty nifty stuff for decent prices. Overall, the less money I need to spend, the better I like it.
  7. I agree. I already get a Model Roundup newsletter/update, so one more couldn't possibly hurt.
  8. I have no idea when the Monogram '70 Challenger T/A was produced, but I see it as a great kit, and own a few.
  9. It says you'll be entered for a free monthly drawing if you enter your email address.
  10. True enough, but you don't find 40% off at most places.
  11. That body color looks almost the same as what I used on my '69. Looks great too.
  12. I just went to the local HL yesterday, and it was better stocked than I've ever seen it previously. Despite that, the only two cars that even remotely appealed, were the '67 & '69 GTX kits. While I bought neither, I may well go back for the '69.
  13. Nope, none at all. Oh well, not the end of the world. I still have to wonder if anyone here ever actually won anything from them.
  14. If it's this kit, and it sure looks like it is, I'm in for one for sure. (I swapped an almost complete kit here on the site a couple of years ago).
  15. I like the kit, but not real wild about the scale.
  16. Lookin' good, Joe, as expected.
  17. AMT '40 Willys and '69 SS 396 both from 2014. But the sweepstakes entry forms have no expiration date, and thus my question. Do I bother sending them in, or just throw them al in the trash. I'll probably just send them all in, as they're postage paid anyway. What can it hurt, really?
  18. If this site is any sort of barometer, there's obviously a market for new, state of the art stuff, but aside from a new Revell kit here or there, many of which don't really interest me anyway, all I see is the antiquated stuff, and that's rather sad.
  19. Over the last couple of years, I've purchased quite a few Round 2 kits, all of which had a sweepstakes entry form included. Is this sweepstakes still in effect? I asked the folks at Round2 about a week ago, and all I got was crickets. Thanks a bunch,
  20. I'm sad to say that I didn't see even one car that I found to be inspiring.
  21. I've got old Testors (and Pactra) bottles here that are well over 40 years old, opened and still in great shape.
  22. If it's never been opened, the paint should be fine.
  23. I still don't really get it, though I do recognize that that's Marley. Anyway, not a big deal, I was just curious.
  24. This is somewhat of an annoyance for me as well, 60 year old tooling that's used endlessly. As a dedicated aircraft and armor modeler that also happens to dabble in car models, I'm accustomed to new aircraft and armor kits being released almost monthly, with fit, finish and detailing that's just wonderful, but for many of the car models I desire, they're just the same old poor fitting, poorly engineered, incorrectly detailed stuff that they just keep churning out over and over again. I suppose it's just what we're stuck with as car modelers and despite the fact that I don't like it, I do accept it.
  25. Kits like this can most certainly be challenging, but to get a nice finished result from it can also be rewarding, and perhaps that's what makes it worthwhile. I'm struggling with mine as well, but am determined to conquer it.
