  1. Excellent. I'll try to keep that in mind if I ever do a stock '29. (I'm currently working on the Monogram '29 pickup, and trying to determine how far I want to go with the wiring, if at all.)
  2. That's excellent. Thanks a bunch, JC.
  3. Late to the party, but here goes anyway. I have but two grail kits, AMT '59 El Camino with Camper and AMT '32 Ford Phaeton. I do now have both (sort of), but would still like these two particular boxings.
  4. Excellent. Thanks, fellas, I appreciate the input.
  5. Excellent. Mine, sold off a couple of years back, were also Pearl; Session Custom Maple to be exact.
  6. And the anomalies just keep piling up; no engine cooling fan, no brake cylinder, no coil or other ignition device, no steering column,...
  7. On the drive side, correct? I guess the carpet covers that? I'm trying to figure out how far I want to take the wiring on a '29 pickup that I'm currently working on, and battery cables to the starter will most certainly need to be added, if it's to look even remotely correct.
  8. Nor am I. I hope you fix it up nice (and raise it).
  9. I know that the standard location for the battery was under the body, but how was it accessed? Thanks a bunch, Kevin
  10. And yet another oddity; no lower radiator hose in the kit, none at all. I may or may not just go ahead and add one, who knows.
  11. Excellent idea, a modeling vault so that those of us that survive, can still get our modeling fix,... after Armageddon.
  12. For a long time, I used 3M Acryl Blue, but the tubes were huge and would start to dry out long before it was used up. Real good stuff though. They also make green, red and white.
  13. When I received the kit (got it in a trade), all of the chrome looked like these examples. I don't know if it left the factory that way, someone sprayed something on it, or what. From some angles it can't really be seen, like the valve covers above, but almost every piece looks like this, just horrible.
  14. Wow, that front end is way up there. I like it.
  15. I really like that orange color, Tim. What paint is that? It looks somewhat similar to a color that I'll soon be putting on a '40 Willys gasser.
  16. What kind of drums do you have?
  17. I'm almost sure now that the overall color on this baby will be Tamiya TS-43 "Racing Green". This color, in combination with the brown interior and beige top, should look pretty classy, which is exactly what I want.
  18. Interesting. There are tons of wood grain decals available for WWI aircraft modelers, and I intend to use some on a '29 Ford pickup that I'm currently working on.
  19. Now there's a trend death that I really look forward to.
  20. I'll worry about all that when the time comes, but thanks a bunch for the info, as I'd assumed they were identical, one to the other.
  21. I'm strongly considering entering a 1:24 pickup in our two local events this year, so I guess just to be safe I'll go ahead and remove all 80 ejector pin marks.
  22. I have a bottle of Zero Colors Guardsman Blue sitting here, but I think it may a bit too "flaky", though the color itself is rather sweet.
  23. Same here. Never more than $25 per.
  24. I also belong to a great astronomy forum, and have seen many, many cool telescope designs there; everything from 60mm to 24".
  25. That's a actually a good idea. I've moved some unwanted stuff that way, and always seem to make some decent cash doing it.
