  1. OK, thanks. It certainly looks good to me.
  2. I'm in the same boat, basically inexpensive car models, even though many are 60 years old, usually 40% off at HL and virtually no AM for any of them. Building, as I do, mostly curbside, my overall outlay is peanuts compared to my aviation and armor related modelling hobby. I'm working on a 1:32 Bf 109G-14/AS right now, and between the kit cost and all of the AM I'm dumping into it, will end up being well over $150 before I'm through, vs the average cost of $20 or so per car model. I have no complaints.
  3. I still have plenty of time to make up my mind, that's for certain.
  4. Which one is this, Revell or Tamiya? Thanks.
  5. Certainly some things to ponder here. The Revell kit is half the price of the Tamiya version, so I may just snatch the Revell kit first, then the Tamiya, if the Revell doesn't meet expectations.
  6. Excellent. Thanks very much. At this point, I'm leaning a bit toward the Tamiya kit.
  7. I like it. I wish I'd had some dump headers like that for a Willys I'm working on.
  8. I'm really most interested in the Enzo, but I'll certainly give your offer some thought. Thanks a bunch.
  9. Has anyone here ever built the Revell kit? Would I be better off to just spend the additional cash and get the Tamiya kit?
  10. Indeed, that is an excellent price. I have the Encore boxing, but have no real idea when I'll get to it.
  11. I heard a Navy Seal say "what does not kill you, will make you stronger, except the A-10, that'll just kill you".
  12. Gorgeous case, and I'm duly envious. Is that the 1:48 Monogram F-102?
  13. OK, this one has gone back in the box indefinitely. I feel no need to waste my time with this thing when the Revell kit will be out at some point. I'd rather just wait for the new kit. If the mods want to delete this tread, that's perfectly fine with me.
  14. One of, if not the best sayings ever. It's actually something I try to live by every day.
  15. The Tamiya 1:48 and 1:32 aircraft models are the benchmark for all other aircraft models. I have several here, in both scales, and their attention to fit, finish and engineering detail, is second to none. The only other manufacturer that really comes close, are the WNW 1:32 WWI aviation models.
  16. I've only ever really used it for masking off large canopy areas and nav lights on aircraft models, but it works great for that.
  17. I've built more than my share of Tamiya aircraft and armor, but never a car. The Ford GT will be the first.
  18. Collecibles? Somebody needs to have a chat with the QC fellas.
  19. Amazing stuff, truly amazing. I wish I had the patience.
  20. Last night I was eyeballing the Tamiya Ford GT kit. While I know nothing at all about the car, any kit from Tamiya is probably killer. I'll soon be ordering one, so we'll see then.
  21. That just might be easier than removing all the trim. Either that, or just call it a '68, which is what it apparently really is.
  22. For me (and my limited experience), it's the Revell/Monogram '70 Challenger T/A kit.
  23. OK, thanks again. That engine looks great.
  24. Terrific. Thanks, Joel, I appreciate it. I assume the engine you show is not stock from the kit, or is it?
  25. This looks just great. Real nice job.
