Changing color on tires..... how ?
Relic_Models replied to cobraman's topic in Model Building Questions and Answers
I think the safest solution is to cast a new set in resin. Even if someone has a method for coloring the rubber it might not necessarily work your particular vinyl blend. -
Some people like collecting stuff; that's their part of the hobby. I know plenty of people with a couple hundred kits piled up. A kit might be worth twenty dollars to you. Someone else might see that same kit and be willing to spend two hundred dollars just to stick it on a shelf, that's how money works. It's not about what number you pay, but what you'e willing to pay.

another reason I love Hobby Lobby!
Relic_Models replied to guitarsam326's topic in General Automotive Talk (Trucks and Cars)
The Mack doesn' show up on their website (checked Saturday). It took my store over a year before they started carrying Tamiya primer when other people were able to buy it. Then again we did get the Minicraft PBM Mariner when it was released. -

That' an odd low, high, somewhere-in-the-middle trailer. -
1981 McLaren M81 Mustang? 1:25? 1:24?

There's only so much you can do with 1980's styling, a pencil and a ruler. -

Considering there's a French flag on both sides under the E.U. flag... -

Never thought the hay haulers were unique. Guess that's life here in Cali. Just wait for the tomato harvest; the roads turn black! -
Model at the dump?
Relic_Models replied to chunkypeanutbutter's topic in General Automotive Talk (Trucks and Cars)
I just want to know why I/you/someone is at the dump digging through trash to start with. I probably would take it though if for some reason I was in a landfill and just happened to see one... -
If you wanted a metallic finish you could have used Alclad. It looks pretty good, the surface does look a bit rough though.

The strech looks pretty natural; well done.

Suppose there's an IRS under there?

Someone always has to do something stupid with their car... https://m.facebook.com/emodelsltd/photos/pcb.754892094618158/754891544618213/?type=1&source=48&refid=8&_ft_=qid.6127098266038372296%3Amf_story_key.623494447438149474 -
What did you do for the black and red stripe? I like the texture. Not a bad effort, and it's certainly got a lot going on.

When this topic comes up someone always suggests 'break cleaner' specifically so I figured I should mention this. Don't think I've heard any one suggest 'break fluid' before. Learned something.
