  1. Does anyone have a left headlight bucket for this kit? I seem to have lost mine. I have the right side.
  2. Heres an update. All parts are clear coated and I have begun work on the interior. Next update, I should be able to show the reason for the long stretch. Note. The pictures make the truck look like it is the "orange peel" king, but it's not. I don't know why the pictures look that way, It is actually a pretty smooth paint job.
  3. Thanks for the measurements. I ordered one. Good way to display some of my Mopars I built years ago. The trailer is still in stock at hobbylinc.com for those of you who are wanting one. Hey Tom, if you measure from the ground to the top of your highest camaro, how many inches is it? looks like around 8" to me.
  4. Does anyone own this kit? The description on Mega Hobby lists it as 5 1/8" tall and 6 7/8" wide. Is this true? That seems really wide. I'm wondering if they have the measurements backward. I really want one of these but the plexiglass covered shelf I have to display my trucks is only a little over 5 1/2" wide.
  5. That looks great! I love the weathering. Most trucks are shiny and perfect, but 1:1's were made for work. I need to learn how to weather. Great Job.
  6. Since my Peterbilt 377 project is winding down, I have started working on my next project a Ford AreoMax I picked up off Evilbay. I am going with the paint scheme on the box, blue, silver and charcoal on the lower. Once again sorry for the poor pictures, its raining outside again. And This is the color blue I chose.
  7. Its amazing how much you can get done when you have a few days off work. Here it is so far. This is my last post on this in the workbench section. Next time you will see it will be in the under the glass area. Thanks for all the comments and help.
  8. I'm new to trucks, so I don't know my engines yet, but to tell the truth, I thought it was a Cummings. Good thing I didn't put the Cummings decals that I have, on the engine! But then those are white, aren't they?
  9. My next project is a Ford AeroMax 120 by Revell. Are there any issues with this kit I should look for. I already don't like how the tires and rims go together.
  10. I Googled Peterbilt 377, and looked at dozens of images. There are many of them that do have a lot of clearance between the tire and wheel opening. Some pictures the gap was small, There doesn't seem to be a consistent height IMO, so I think I will stay with the original design of the kit. Thanks for all the input. These pictures were taken inside with a flash, and make the red look lighter than it is. I hope to take the next pictures outside if not raining.
  11. Ah, thanks guys, I get it now. You put the inner rim on, glue the little black ring to the outer axle, then glue the inner and outer rims together. I think I will do as many have suggested and glue them solid. I have already almost lost if off the bench.
  12. Thanks Ken. I've already started some painting. I've decided on Tamiya Metallic Red in the lacquer spray can. So far it is going on real smooth, and the metal flake seems to have a gold color to it.
  13. This is my latest and 3rd truck model, an Italeri Pete 377. Only problem so far was one of the rear axles was warped real bad and I had to heat it to bring it back into shape. You will notice in the pictures that I have added some plumbing. This is in no way prototypical, I'm just sort of "dipping my toe in". It does add to the "realism" of the model and I hope to expand on it in future builds. Is there a trick to keeping the back tires from falling off? It looks like that little black ring you put on between the inner and outer rims is supposed to snap on the axle, but it don't.
  14. You are a man of great talent. that build is awesome. The scratch built trailer is a piece of art. I really like the Volvo tractor and I plan on buying one someday. did I notice right, there is no engine in the kit? Seems like a lot to pay for no engine and a non opening hood.
  15. What is the best way to cut sheet styrene? I am just starting to use it, and use a straight edge and my xacto knife. I score the sheet a few times and "snap" it off. Only problem is that my straight edge doesn't seem as straight as I want it after I snap it off.
  16. Unless you have had to do some body work, why prime? I have models that are 20 years old and have great looking paint jobs and I never primed them. If the paint is made to work on plastic, all priming does is "fill in" part details.
  17. A true piece of art. Well done.
  18. Beautiful! Amazing! I wish I could weather like that.
  19. That is real nice! Good choice of truck and colors. I would like to see more pictures.
  20. I ran across this kit on Ebay the other day. I would love one of these kits. Has anyone seen it anywhere besides Ebay? The prices on Ebay with shipping are way out of my price range, and I think a little over priced on most of the truck kits there. I would like to see more late model truck kits. I hope we see a 2010 or so Pete 386 or 387 some day soon.
  21. I found some paint pens made by a company called Forney, at my local auto parts store. They have an end like a sharpie marker, but it uses paint and not ink. They come in a lot of different colors and work great.
  22. 30 years ago, I worked as a Park Ranger at a state park. One night I checked in a couple driving an old school bus with a Kenworth cabover front. Looked like they cut off the bus front end and grafted the cabover in it's place. I wish that was in the days of cell phones, so I could have taken pictures of it.
  23. That truck looks real nice.
  24. Here's mine. Its almost done. some fine detailing yet. Sorry for the poor quality picture.
