A little progress on the Mercer. The seats, engine, and wheels are just placed there pending cleanup and painting. This one is almost straight out of the box except for leaving some parts like fenders off. I will try to use the paint to detail it up a little but nothing fancy.

Number 4 is really sharp looking
-
I ended up getting about five of them a few are still en route. Interesting kits some parts like leaf springs have almost no definition and others like fenders almost too much. I am building two now just to see how they work out. One kit the flash is almost anough lkastic for a second kit but the others aren’t bad
-
Since I will need something for the Caddy to race against I also started the Mercer Raceabout as a fenderless race version
-
Unlike most of the Pyro kits the frame on the Cadillac is molded with the fenders so I started by hacking them off.
-
Now that I have the kit in hand it appears the fenders are cast with the frame and major surgery will be required to remove it plus when done I'm not sure there really is a "frame" just the bottom half of it. My plan B option is the speedster version with fenders so I might default to that.

Probably not a period racer but done at a later date by converting a Cadillac Model Thirty perhaps in the 1940's. I am basing my version on the Pyro Vintage Brass kit of the 1909 Cadillac Model 30 Tourer. This is sort of what I am going for except without the race numbers

I’m not sure what amazes me more, the creativity with which Harry approaches each issue, the technical skill level, the artistry, or that it took him a little over a month start to finish. But I keep going back through it and learning from it

I ended up getting the Cadillac Thirty and a Mercer I will post build threads on them
-
Are they actually 1/32 scale or just sorta scale? I really don’t mind if they are proportional but thinking of mixing in some of those 1/32 WWI airplane engines for a race car post war
-
The Mercer build looks good I would be happy to come out half that good
-
Thanks. I have a bid in on a model 30 Cadillac and am looking at the Mercer wish they did the Stutz also. I thought I could convert the model 30 into the speedster

How bad are these? Are the basics there and are the shapes fairly accurate?

My first car was a 1970 yellow 4 door sedan with a black vinyl top boy does this bring back memories. Great job keep them coming

Got some paint primer on it need to fill a few seams. Also added the front wings to keep the nose down

Not that any of this will show but I did add some seat belts and stuff and gussied up the control panel a little. I am sort of trying for a rough edge look as they tacked in some sheet aluminum to cover parts of it I cut out and built the front wheel well also I will be closing it all up and painting the main body over the weekend

Love the color also nice job

Lot of the weight is on the back end the front section was the 1,000 kg warhead which I think they are leaving out but I will go with the forward position I am working on mounting the rear stabilizer and elevators on the nose to keep it down running the elevators in tandem
-
I am going with one front wheel trying to decide do i want it in the forward or more middle position I am leaning towards forward thoughts
-
So I finally got the base model in the mail from HK. My thought was to make wheel covers like the Stutz LSR car from the wings but the chord isn't big enough to cover nor are they thick enough so i am looking for a plan B. Pics to follow it is really a simple kit for the price not a lot of parts.
