  1. Excellent Work!! I'm sort of a Red Power man myself. I would like to see more tractor models!!
  2. These are some awesome builds guys!!! I only finished two this year.
  3. Looks like a Vickers Hydraulic assist to me. If I am not mistaken, they work much like the old Ford hydraulic assist that was on cars and pickups. To put it simply, the cylinder just assists the no-power sterring box.
  4. Very nice work!! Thanks for the tip!!
  5. Very nice old school build!! The kind that I like!!!
  6. I like the color scheme! I'm glad you went with the wall furnace. The notes that I'm taking will help me with mine. The 1:1 truck that I'm going to replicate had the wall furnace.
  7. Now that's my kind of build!! Some folks prefer the customs, I like the old workhorses!! Excellent Work!!!
  8. This thing is looking very cool!!! I like old KWs. Truthfully, I wasn't sure what I was going to think about the custom hood look, but I like it. The paint job really makes this truck!! I can't wait to see more! Excellent Work!!!
  9. Welcome to the forum. Nice work!!
  10. As my son would say: "This thing is off the chain!!"
  11. Welcome to the forum. I like the color scheme!! I really like all the trucks with this cab!! I will probably never be able to build them all though.
  12. Thanks Jacobus, there are a lot of great photos there and a couple from Glosson. I had forgotten how many great photos there were on his page. Still hoping to find some good side shots. Thanks....Brian
  13. I've always wanted one of those. Excellent job on this one!!! I always liked these trucks in 1:1.
  14. I saw that one or its twin the other day. VERY COOL!!!
  15. Wow!! This thing is awesome!!! Looks like the real thing. Great Work!!!
  16. I just received a set of KJ's 22.5" two hole "Budd" wheels. The quality is excellent!! The detail is too! I personally like them better than the old Clint Freeman two hole "Budd" wheels that I have had in the past (that were great as well by the way). Better than that, KJ is a great guy to deal with, and very helpful. I will be buying many other items from Double Take Replicas.
  17. I know that this is a long shot, but I am hoping some of you have some reference pictures of trucks that ran out of North Carolina in the 70s and especially the 80s. Some that I'm looking for are: Glossons Motor Lines (Lexington), Food Lion (Salisbury), Coble Diary (Lexington), Hudson Transportation (Lexington NC, and Troy, Al), Lexington Specialty Foods (Lexington), Billings (Lexington), J&S (Lexington), Overnight, Old Dominion or any other NC trucks from that era. I'm also looking for good reference photos of Winn Dixie trucks from that era as well. These are some build that I'm wanting to build, and I need reference photos along with door logos etc. If anyone has any photos at or around the Roadranger truck stop that was in Lexington at that time, I would like to see those photos as well. Thanks for your help....Brian
  18. Since the game was supposed to end yesterday, I will give more details as to why I think this very nice build is a model. The 1:1 pictures that I've seen are of a 379. This is a 359 with 379 headlights (just like the kit). The grill and screen look more like the kit set up than the real thing. The underside of the front fenders looks too new to be the 1:1 (to me). The wipers, and glance through the windshield will fool you, but I still believe that this is a very well built model instead of the real thing. If I'm wrong, disregard all of my observations. LOL.
  19. I like the color scheme! Did you scratch build the sleeper yourself, or is it sourced from another supplier? Nice build!
  20. Very nice! I like it!
  21. When I first saw the lines drawn on the body of this build to mark where the cuts were going to be, my first thought was that I wasn't going to like this one. Generally, I am not a fan of channeling or chopping or cutting, but that is just a personal preference of mine. As the build progressed I observed some very nice body work, and I've got to say that I REALLY LIKE the finished product. The choice to delete the grill, bumpers, door handles, etc., just added to the awesome appearance of this car. Very nice build! Very nice craftsmanship! I like this one!!
  22. The colors are awesome!! I've always wanted to paint a build "turn signal amber". Very nice build!!!
  23. The Revell early 80s Bronco has the wrong front end set up. It has leaf springs and the axle looks too large to me. I have used this set up to convert a 90 model F150 4x2 to an F250 4x4. If you wanted detailed accuracy, the front end would need to be modified some, possibly by molding in a Dana cover. My personal preference is the solid Dana 60 approach, although that may not be completely accurate. The later F350s had solid front axels. as did the 79 and older. B-N-L sells axles on Ebay regularly, I am using them on my 71 Ford. Leaf springs can be made from styrene strips pretty easily or even metal strips. I know that the 79 and older F350 4x2 had coil spring front ends very similar to the F150 and I'm pretty sure that the 84 F350 would have been the same. These would probably be very similar in scale, and may not need much if any modification other than possibly changing the ride height some, but this set up can also be sourced from the Monogram 90s model F250 or F350 dually.
  24. Very Cool paint job!!!
