  1. How did you know that every single car in that picture is my favorite flopper?
  2. Perfect timing. My bulk shipment of adult personal hygiene products arrived today. Like Art said, "Your real-world skills are really shiney." That may not be an exact quote. Bravo Bro.
  3. If we can't tell the difference from 1/1 vs. 1/16, as Mr. Spock said: "It's only logical. A difference that makes no difference, is no difference." Sounds logical to me Bro. Really happy to see that working again makes you happy faced. I'm trying to work on that myself.
  4. Dave, not only should you use them, but if necessary, abuse them. I mean, face it, they're already twisted, just like the rest of this build will be. Evil, Nasty, Wicked, Mean and Twisted. And I mean that in a good way. Muuaaaaahahahahaha !!!!! (Insert shameless plug here: Did you notice I'm twisting a build to my evil purposes?)
  5. Hiya' Michael. The turntable was a lucky thrift shop acquisition inspired by another member here. I'll settle for Facebook Who's This Guy status. Thanks Gordon. I hope you're right. I misremembered how busy I am on the first of the month, but I'll shoot for progress before the end of the weekend ya'll.
  6. Whoaaaaaa!!! I missed the steering setup, Man. That's a first for me. And in keeping with the engine offset, it makes perfect sense. Good stuff !!
  7. Glad you like the Duster. I remember seeing a pic of a nostalgia funny with a R/E set up. Never could find any chassis / body up shots. Also, I'm glad to see some bench time from me too. Thanks NitroBro.
  8. Glad you think so Art. I was hoping for wild. Thanks Vince. As far as Jabba is concerned, he thinks he's a pretty good looking guy too. It's the eyes. It's always the eyes. I've got some busy days ahead and hope to get back on it before the weekend. I'm doing parts clean up when the Mutt allows me to.
  9. Well, so far I only love everything about it. The roll cage fits the fairing like you did it on purpose. It's coming together as fast as it ran. Well done Bro.
  10. Psssssst!!!! The secret is, short input shaft. Just enough to position the engine and still have the headers clear. Couple that with a custom fuel pump and VOILA!!! (NOTE: Your experience may vary.) Feel free to post some pics my friend. Maybe it'll get the Mojo Workin'.
  11. Yikes. Thanks Vince & Bob. They were there when I posted. Must be an Amazon Prime Photo thing. I stopped using PhotoBucket. I'll get it figured out.
  12. What happens when you take an AMT Wedge T/F chassis, perform countless modifications, then top it with a Mongoose Duster body? Insanity personified. The Duster body is the result of a Challenger no-go. The windshield was too far back, even with the rear wheel wells set back as far as they could go (for this chassis). The Duster was a perfect fit. I have also started the tin work with the firewall that still needs a massage or two to drop the rear stance and get the roll cage closer to the roof. The "Gotcha' Factor" will be the blower hat sticking up through the roof line. I just figured if someone attempted a back motor F/C today, that might be the hot set-up. I scratched out a funny car roll cage to replace the old dragster type 3 point roll bar. The rear wheels and disc hubs are drilled out for 00-90 studs and lug nutz. As with some folks here, I run into occasional motivation issues and my fair share of distractions. For instance, I just adopted a rescue dog to become a Service Dog to ease my frazzled mind. So far, so good. He owns me mind, body and soul. He's a year and a half old Chihuahua / Dachshund mix called a "Chiweenie". I named him Jabba because it was the first name he responded to. One day soon, maybe this year, he will respond to it again.........BTW, since he's a mix, his full name is Jabba the Mutt. In the first pics, you'll notice my other pet. His name is Batzilla, hopefully for obvious reasons. It's a bash of a Godzilla toy and a vinyl Batman bank. Fair warning. This will more than likely be a slow build. Since I haven't finished a model in a year or so, I have high hopes for this off-the-wall, off-the-hook project. Thanks for listening and looking. All forms of praise and adulation greedily accepted. Jabba has me right where he wants me.
  13. I can breathe again. BTW, nice spoons.
  14. What Brad said. Especially the awesome part.
  15. As the Chi-Town Hustler engine offset went the opposite way, seeing it like this makes sense too. Owners and Crew Chiefs with their whacky ideas. Waada' ya' gonna do, huh? Now we just use tried and true engineering and weight distribution to balance the silly things. Engineers and Chassis Genius' with their logical College degrees.. Wadda' ya' gonna do, huh?
  16. I'm gonna' call this a "Phoenix" build because I got to see that thing reduced to ashes at OCIR. It also inspired my love for Topless Floppers. Flying Dutchman, Marv Eldridge, Jack Chrisman, et al. Have fun John. I miss seeing your work in person.
  17. Just for grins and giggles, I did an image search for pics of the chute setup. Not only did you get the chute mount and angle correct, but the cords are right too. You never cease to amaze Dude.
  18. Stephen Hawking called. He wants to know how you calculated the Quantum Entanglement Oscillation Reverberation Phase Loop when you built your Handy Dandy Mr. Shrinky Doo-Dad Machine. John, I'm in total awe of the linkages. I'm speaking more about myself than anyone else, but you're adding detail many of us desire, but don't quite achieve.
  19. From one AWESOME builder to another.
  20. I had no problem believing it was the real deal until you put your Big Ol' MasterCrafting Man Hands in the picture. Incredible as always John. Also excellent progress on the Goosemobile.
  21. I can't keep up. I need a new hobby. Who has the best deals on knitting supplies?
  22. See John? This is why I've always said that Funny Cars are your strong suit. And Bikes. And Displays. And Kustoms. And Rods. And Bonneville. And Transports. And ...........
  23. Tim, Dude !! I had to go back to the previous update before it hit me what was actually added. It's usually one piece in plastic, but now I understand why it had to be done that way in metal. Bring on the end plates. We all know they will be amazing.
  24. I will start this build after Art Laski`s L.A. Roadster Show this Fathers Day Weekend in Pomona. AFTER Art's show? I don't know Mr. John. Kinda' looks started to me. Must be a Modeler's Karma thing. Patience when building, no patience between builds. Am I right? Am I right? Am I right? Back in the olden days when I used to build models........kidding.......I built a Dodge Stealth Pro Street. For the radiator cap I used a mechanical watch winding knob. Any chance that's what's sitting on top of your fuel tank?
