  1. Here are some photos of the new window louvers that I added last night. I've added some new brackets to the front bumper assembly and added a step on the passenger side. http:// http:// I added a spotlight to the machine gun assembly. http:// http://
  2. Here's where I'm at. I built 4 ammo boxes and some brackets to hold the boxes in place. I added some window screen material to the gunner's chair. I like the texture. The shiny, 5 spoke Corvette rims were temporary. I found a good replacement. I had an old model of a 1/44 scale tank. I used the rims and made a few modifications. I think they turned out good. I'm very happy with the look. http:// http:// http:// http://
  3. Hey Stimy, I painted the guns with a flat black primer. I just wanted to get an idea of what they'd look like. I'll do the final details a little later. I'm very happy with the guns so far. I love how they look, however, I need a glue that will bond to that different type of plastic. I use Tamaya extra thin on most of my models. It won't bond the type of plastic that is used in the 3D printing. The plastic is also very brittle. You notice it when cutting it with an Exacto blade. I've put the van aside for now. I got frustrated with trying to mount the dual 50 caliber guns on the inside of the van. They fit with the side door closed, but had very little range of motion. So the Econoline is on vacation until I finish my new/old project, the Datsun 510 truck. These are the old pictures. The Datsun was it's original chassis. I had tweaked the suspension to it's max to get the truck to ride at that height. I still wanted it to ride higher. http:// http:// I had a chassis from a Jeep Wrangler Rubicon that was the same scale as the Datsun (1:25). The Jeep's suspension matched up to the Datsun wheel wells pretty close. Not a perfect match but close enough for a post-apocalypse rebuild. So I decided to just go for it. The ride height now reminds me of the old Toyota 4x4's that were popular in the late 80's. http:// http:// Giant guns on a tiny vehicle. I had to do it. http:// http:// http:// I still have much left to do!

  5. Stimy the weathering looks very good. I also like the addition of the intake through the hood. What are you putting in the trunk? I received my dual 50 caliber guns in the mail. They're bigger in size than I thought they would be. I probably should have researched it in some videos to get an idea of the actual, real-world size. I also ordered dual 30 caliber machine guns that are much smaller. I haven't decided which set to use. 50 Cal mounted to a seat. I hope to have this slide out the side of the van and be able to rotate, but I think that's a bit too ambitious for my skill level. We'll see! http:// Door fully closed. http:// The gun/chair assembly fits behind the sliding door. It's a little cramped. The gunner's seat has to be in the full forward position and the guns have to be pointed down as far as they go. Also...I usually make a few different options as I build. These pictures show a different front bumper assembly. It's not as aggressive as the previous bumper. http:// http:// The more aggressive bumper. http:// \
  6. The GTO looks great Stimy. Perfect looking car for the apocalypse. It looks tough and has a great stance. More pics please. Here's some of the progress I've made on the Econoline.I added bigger tires from the Ford Raptor kit. http:// The 50 cal machine guns that I ordered have shipped and should be here any day. If I can make a spot for it behind the sliding side door, that's where I plan on putting it. http:// http:// http:// http:// The Raptor rims will be swapped out for these rims that came off an old tank model. http://
  7. Thanks for the comments. It's much appreciated. I'm really enjoying this type of build. Great fun! My two current builds are these. I'm at a bit of a standstill on the Datsun 510 pickup. I planned on it being a scout truck, but I ran out of steam. I'm sure I'll pick it up again. http:// This is the model I can't put down since a week ago...The Phantom Econoline. It has so much potential. http:// I found a site that sells 3-d printed 1/24 scale machine guns. Ordered them yesterday. I was told they would ship in 2-3 weeks. I've got a spot saved for two 50 cal machine guns behind the sliding door. I hope they fit well. http:// http:// Again, thank you for the positive feedback. I hope to see more of these builds.
  8. I've been building post apocalypse vehicles over the past 2-3 years. I've referenced this forum post so many times for inspiration and ideas. There's been some incredible builds here. Thank you to everyone for showing their creations. 1965 Ford Galaxie. My first attempt at a post-apocalypse vehicle. http:// http:// http:// 1969 Buick Riviera. http:// http:// http:// 1977 GMC pickup http:// http:// http:// 1970 Camaro http:// http:// http:// Datsun 510 WIP http:// http:// Thanks for looking. Hope you enjoy.
  9. This 1969 Riviera was the second post apocalypse build of mine. Thanks for looking!! http:// http:// http:// http:// http:// http:// http:// http://
  10. I finished this Galaxie about two and a half years ago. This was my first attempt at post apocalypse vehicle. My first attempt at weathering too. I watched all the videos and all the techniques I could find on Youtube. What would we do without internet??? I think that I repainted the car body four times. Never happy with the weathering job. In the end I was very happy with it. http:// http:// trunk cover closed: http:// trunk cover open: http:// The fuel storage. I made the 55 gallon drum out of a container that held diabetic blood strips. http:// http:// http://
  11. Thanks guys. I appreciate the feedback. To answer your question Rusty, Youtube, styrene, and lots of internet reference materials help me create this. Oh and rust colored paint! I really enjoy seeing the post from other modelers showing their build process. Unfortunately, I always forget to stop and take pictures while I'm in the middle of my builds. http:// http:// http:// http:// http:// This last picture was before I added the machine guns on the driver's door. Everything is better with dual machine guns.....
  12. Hello. I'm new to these forums. I've got a few post-apocalypse cars in my collection that I'd love to share. Here's my favorite and the last model that I have completed. It's a AMT1970 Baldwin Camaro. Had a blast making it. Hope you enjoy. http:// http:// http:// http:// http://
  13. Hello, I'm new to the forums. This is my first post. I'm really into the post apocalypse builds and rat rods. Here is what I'm currently working on. It's a Datsun 510 converted into a truck. I have a lot left to do, but I really wanted to show it off. Thanks for checking it out. http:// http:// http://
