  7. I bought this kit about a year ago for my father. He spent many of his evenings working on it and finally got it finished about a week ago. It's his first build in 25 years (keep in mind he's only 39). Built mostly box-stock except for a lift and plug wires. Custom diorama made out of a mirror, outside items, and the use of a glue gun (for the stream). Thanks for looking. I will post more pictures soon. Jay
  8. All three look awesome! You are a very talented builder. Jay
  9. It looks really good. The detailing is incredible. See you at the starting line! Jay
  10. 1950 Chevrolet 3100 with a 427 from the 1969 Nova. Dana 44s and 35" Mickey Thompson Baja Claws. Nicknamed the Sergeant, it has sergeant badges sewn into the headrests. Lights, huge gas tank, extra gas storage, tools, and recovery gear. It has a scratch built Warn M8274 winch and many other mods. I loved building it and I'm already looking forward to next year's Cannonball.
  11. Awesome builds guys. I got mine done. 12. I got mine done this weekend. It turned out so much better than I expected. More pictures in the finished build thread. Good luck to everyone who isn't finished yet! Jay

  14. Wow! It's awesome! It looks so good. Great build. Jay
  15. It looks really good. The attention to detail is amazing. Great work. Jay
  16. I figure that it's time I show some of the progress. Custom driveshafts, scratch built shocks, sway bars, and skid plate. It has custom scratch built steering and it has the Jeep's rock sliders. I fully scratch built the Warn M8274.
  17. I probably would have made it to the starting line by the first, but with the extended time I'll be able to add more things that I previously wouldn't have thought of adding. So it is advantageous none-the-less. I got the drivetrain done with sway bars and heavy duty shocks. I also got the engine in place. I'm making steady progress and I will make more with the extra time given. I really like the builds that are going on here. They look great. Jay
  18. Wow! It looks so real! Great looking build, I love it. Jay
  19. I finished up the interior with a roll cage, CB radio, and an actual map of the race that I printed out and traced by pen. As you can see the truck has been painted Olive Drab, which is why I named it The Sergeant. I still have lots of work to do, but I think that I'll make it before the deadline. Jay
  20. I finally got the computer working. The truck deserved a name, so it will now be reffered to as The Sergeant. Here's some of the work I've done. I decided to go with the 427 from the 1969 COPO Nova to keep Chevrolet with Chevrolet. I haven't detailed it yet, but I did add some headers. I also used the split seat from the Nova and made five-point harnesses. The Sergeant badges were painted onto the head rests by hand, hence the name I gave the truck. I'll be getting more pictures in later. Jay
  21. Cool builds guys! Coming along great. I have made good progress on the 3100 but I am having computer trouble and can't get the pictures posted. The computer is getting fixed, so I should be able to post pretty soon. Thanks! Jay
  22. It's down to the last stretch. Hopefully I can find a bit more time to work on my build. I'll post pics of the progress soon. Jay
  23. Thanks! I used the springs from a black or blue pen. But for the rear, I just used the stock leafsprings because they are soft enough. Jay
