So I've tried like 6 times to do an update. Apparently I can't add any updates to this at least with any pictures.. oh well...

That is one of the best I've seen of this kit. That color is great for that body. You really knocked this one outta the park. Very nicely done!

To kinda answer your question... "guitar lacquer" can be used on your model. It's not "thicker" than anything else really. With the proper prep work, you'll be fine. Not being a douche... that's most likely because it wasn't properly filled and sealed before hand. You can finish a guitar in anything really, must like a model, with the right prep work.

Man that color is awesome!

You have my attention. That is a nice looking color. You lucked up on that one. Anything I've ever gotten that was already painted looked like a 5yr old finger painted it.

So I ended breaking out the Novus 2. It appears to be a success and we're back on track. This wasn't originally what I had in mind, but I'm kinda digging the way it turned out. So I'm thinking this is the direction I'm taking. All my other bits and pieces have been painted as well... Next will be assembly. Stay tuned...

This is the latest release of the Revell/Monogram Monte Carlo... and my first time ever building it. I chose to go with the custom stripe package this go around, with Pegasus wheels. Paint is Testors Extreme Lacquer Graphite Dust and Wet Look Clear. I liked it. I see me building this one again factory stock..ish... As always, thanks for looking... on to the next.

I let my intrusive thoughts get the better of me. I had an idea on color from looking at an old build. So, I found a can of Tamiya Metallic Gray, and even though I knew better, I sprayed her down. Man it looked good... for all of 5 minutes. So I guess I'll let it sit for a day or so. Then see if I can clean it up. If not, I guess I'll be stripping it... ugh, oh well...

Thank ya guys... No real updates to speak of, but I did get her in primer. It's a rainy day with some elevated humidity, so probably no hopes of painting this weekend. That's cool though, as it gives me more time to think of color options. I was thinking about your normal contenders, but I've decided to go for more of a custom color. I'm just not sure what direction yet.. Anyway, at least I'm still working on one.
