  1. I have done this comparison. My findings were the two (LOL, one multi engined kit and the other a dual engined kit) engines were similar, however the valve covers were different and the blocks were different , in that one had a semblance of a transmission and the other didn't. Molding marks on the inside of the engines were also different as were the exhaust mountings on each. Photos? That would be great, however I have made a move to a new home and stuff is everywhere.
  2. I think after reading all the pros and cons, the PE set is the way to go ifin you want all the flash on your build. I'm going for a shave and six tailights.
  3. as to Danica, two things, first , sitting high in turn four it looked like she made the decision to go down the front straight on fire instead of into the pits for a shot of fire extinguisher, her choice. Second, it all happened too fast for a NASCAR call.Oh, Ooops , third, several older women sitting behind me ask: what the deal was with Danica and were told " She aint never gonna win. The good ol boys wont let her."
  4. Every time I see "prolly" used in a thread I don't take it too seriously, and I'd pick state of the art, Art.
  5. "And the hood from the DOUBLE WHAMMY can be cut and grafted on to some other kits" .Interesting, never thought of that, for that matter, never seen it either.
  6. OKAY. It's all gone. Now let's get those computers moving and get these kits Reverse Engineered !
  7. I've heard the line on the Sizzler and the Sckoolbus many times. I don't buy it. I have both kits and none of the parts line up. It just ain't so. Urban Myth ?
  8. Ok, you dream about these great kits. You ponder, "What ever happened to . . ?" What kits would you like to see them Reverse engineer back into existence?
  9. I think this is a good question, where as Revell / Monogram has several series where they use their existing kits to further the span of said kits, I.E. their great '32 Ford series and ( even though 1/24th scale) '64-'66 Mustang series. Another question as queried here is where do they go from here ? I think the '70 Charger would be a logical direction. I also ponder why they haven't finished their Mustang series with a coupe. Where the '32 Ford kits are going is anybodies guess. Rat Roaster anyone? A '70 would fine by me.
  10. Those three would seem like a no brainer for reissue.
  11. I remember some time in the '70's or early '80's many company's went with a simplistic form of instructions where there was little to no written instruction. Most of what was there was in pictures or symbols. I think this did a great injustice to the novice builder as they lost any learning experience the may have gained from reading the instructions. Now don't short change the young builders. I remember many times as a youngster building model aircraft and coming across words I had never seen before and , yes, actually taking the time to look them up. Years latter I found myself aceing many Navy test about aircraft, wondering how I had this knowledge with my model building experience being the only answer.
  12. Ahhh Haa, I knew I saw this somewhere :http://robdebie.home.xs4all.nl/models/partspacks.htm
  13. Reading another thread http://www.modelcars...pic=65815&st=20 and I was wondering could it be done? A contest for your club or a theme for a major contest, just using "parts packs" ? There are certainly enough engine kits available in the parts packs and tires seem to abound ( heard AMT was coming out with a tire new set) but what about other parts, bodies, frames (chassis) etc, One more thread : http://www.modelcars...showtopic=14721

  15. Their "flat box" series is hard to beat.
  16. Not having seen it and with all the hoopla on the new Vett, I must concur. I'm really looking forwaed to this one.
