  1. I wondered who would be the first one to vote for that one
  2. unless you have a C
  3. Yep, I know, "To each his own"
  4. anyone got a picture of the box ? certainly not one to miss
  5. Then why waste your time and ours negatively commenting on it here ?
  6. Ah, the good ol' days
  7. not mine, stole picture from another site when I got all excited seeing the build.
  8. I wonder if this is the direction more of us are traveling ? I have a friend that builds aircraft in what we call a "Nostalgia style" that is as we would have as younger builders , not so much all the detail work but pretty much out of the box, probably easier to do with aircraft. Can't see it, not to worry.
  9. Yeah, I know, I've ranted about this before on the AMT '66 Mustang kit. I've just gotten the bug their '63 Corvette, finding it will do nicely for our club monthly theme build. Thinking about how we judge, peoples choice and no picking up of the models, what you see is what you get. Unless its a gasser or something else with a noteworthy chassis, there's nothing to get excited about under there. "Keep moving folks. Nothing to see here." just the shinny parts and do dads on top. Now what I'm really after here, is how many other older kits that keep getting reissued might have that promo type chassis? I'm sure many newer people to the hobby might be a bit miffed to find this type chassis with little to no detail compared the to newer kits.
  10. I was wondering if any here have used common household items for hobby needs? I was thinking, got a new electric tooth brush, the old one still works. modify the head to hold sand paper and wa La, a small power sander. There are probably many other items around the house that could do double duty or recycled uses.
  11. I'm aware of the short comings of this kit, however I feel it still offers a great jumping off point for a quick fun build. I was just wondering what any of you have done with this kit.
  12. "Either way, this kit can still be found for sale fairly cheaply sometimes, and that may fill the market for XR-6 kits at this time." Pristine complete kit just sold for $50 on the Bay for a "Buy it Now" $50 a few weeks ago.
  13. Read the long Buying my first air brush thread , got a little more information in the next thread, Buying a compressor Now what do I need ? I'm thinking hose, water trap and a pressure gauge. Is hose length an option? Any particular brand on the other two, water trap, gauge? How do you hook these up, in what position? That should be enough for now, unless I've missed something.
  14. To the town of Aqua Fria road a stranger one fine day . . .
