  1. next up, and if you've never seen any of these, beware, the IMC kits, just about all of them. We're talking opening everything just like the Revell kit as well as multi part bodies similar to some early Revell kits, I.E. their '60 Corvette
  2. digging up an old thread, I can only say the worst, but certainly not impossible, two come to mind. First , of course, the early Revell Tri- Five kits, all of them. The '56 being the worse.
  3. color fine. just not too shinny. on to a clear or maybe some lemon Pledge
  4. Ok, hood primer test ok. next up some Dupli-color ?
  5. Long ago ( late seventies) I experienced something like this teaching high school auto mechanics. students would bring their cars in to do an oil change and start up the engine and dump most of their new oil onto the floor.? trouble was, the cheep oil filters they were buying were labeled Generically. That is to say the box would list most cars. You were expected to look at the box , find the code for your vehicle then look at the end of the box to make sure you had the correct filter. ”But Mr. Myers, it had my car listed on the side of the box.” ?
  6. I’m sure this is just a retail marketing method. However I must admit it certainly doesn’t work in the paint area. i have to admit a little ADHD here on my part, if I see this in the model car area, I correct it?
  7. I find you’ll find all kinds of people where ever you go, even here.?
  8. Spoon test turned out ok. Extra hood test tomorrow. Good idea Lee, thanks.
  9. and we should all go out and buy a compressor along with a nice gravity feed airbrush.
  10. Was just getting ready to do this same paint format, Rustoleum primer then Dupli-Color Perfect Match. poor thing just came out of the pond from a bout with a “Craft Finish” that was crinkley on purpose. ? color was nice I’m doing the “spoon test” now. primer went down well. Dupli-Color ? We’ll see . . . ?
  11. To show that, indeed, some here ARE interested in ambulances and or hearses regardless of the scale.
  12. Basic math, the other part seems to be the luck of the draw, as I’ve experienced each of these types discussed above?
  13. Reading is fundamental. Casey said : " IMHO isn't too surprising considering how off-the-wall some of the subjects were -- I mean, '37 Packard and a '39 LaSalle hot rod hearse kits? " "Hearse kits" just saying.
  14. here's the math, far from %40 off , $149 vs $179, close to %20
  15. read somewhere you can ask to pay the regular price. then produce your 40% coupon. anyone ever try this ?
  16. Looking at an Iwata airbrush HP-CS with a yellow "Your Price" sticker of $149 thinking, oh boy 40% off, $89. No, sorry no coupons on yellow sticker priced items. So my question, do these items ever go back to the regular price? $179 - %40 = $107
  17. Full kit, Funky Foreign Formula One , Vanwall, GP Champions, wires in front, "Wobblies" in back.
  18. I think we need a new modern kit of the '65-'66 mustang Coupe. something with a real chassis. not a promo style blob. That's Coupe, Notchback, not another sportroof, fastback. and Monogram / Revell could use a bunch of their already existing 1/24th scale Mustang parts to cut the costs.
  19. Just like the "General" is a starting point.
