  1. Revell may have beat AMT to the draw on the Willys Gasser with their Stone, Woods and Cook kit, but I think AMT got the most mileage out of their investment. Now realize, that's just my opinion. But hey, you got a twofer from AMT, a '40 Willys gasser and a custom '32 Ford sedan that no one else will produce for quite a while.
  2. It would seem, at least I'd like to think so, that this first group of kits ( Notice, all One Off vehicles) would have set the tone for this thread. Truly Iconic has many meanings, and I must admit the example listing the Model T, VW Bug, '57 Chevy, truly has "Iconic" cars. Many of the others have jumped the shark going the way of listing those cars that have indeed never been kitted but boarder on the typical list of " Cars I'd like to See Kitted" i.e. aunt Minnie's neighbor's father's, friend's, 1989 whatever it is. I guess this is just my short coming not describing the topic more clearly. Iconic one off, famous, Hot Rods and Custom cars we've seen in magazines, TV shows, movies, car shows, museums. Alright, you have your assignment. Pick this one apart. By the way, just saw the latest ZZ Top kit at Hobby Lobby.
  3. Maybe a better title would have been Iconic "One Off Hot Rods". i.e. the first group of kits shown.
  4. Why the convertible ?
  5. AfterACE-Garageguy"s Post on the McGee Roadster it got me wondering how many Iconic cars have never been kitted, and how many have. First a look at some that HAVE been kitted:
  6. My mistake Roth not Barris
  7. and how did Roth lay claim to this hot rod built by another person ? https://kustomrama.com/wiki/Tweedy_Pie
  8. How many kits have been reissued? How many different versions have been kitted ? How many extra parts are still in the kit with no mention in the instructions?
  9. It was indeed , and the Back Street Boys

  11. Has it been that long ? aren't we due for a decent modern kit of this great Icon ? You have to admit, The AMT promo chassis kit is a little long in the tooth.
  12. Bill J did you at least get something good from the swap ? Too bad we missed you, there were a bunch on us there from the forum.
  13. And retro engines with carburetors too
  14. Snow ? It don't snow in Phoenix.
  15. where do we get them ?
  16. and there in, the paradox
  17. Look no further than those old AMT kits with their custom clips. The early '57 Chevy had something similar to what you have showed us. also their '49 and '50 Ford kits have custom clips that shouldn't be to far off fitting the Lindberg '54.
  18. My friend Mike Kovara, Tucson 1967, Gasser style. Make do with what you have.
  19. worse than Mike999 truck
  20. I think that was more in house politics than product sales. their aircraft kits really sold well. other than the miscue on the McClaren, should have gone right to the Cobra roadster.
