Which seems quite evident in most of the responses here. -

Why is it so hard to read the original post and respond? 1/24th scale. not 1/25th. -

Actual size of AMT slicks?

Welcome to "Kit Bashing" the art of using all those extra parts left over from your previous builds. -
Actual size of AMT slicks?
Greg Myers replied to andy12646's topic in Model Building Questions and Answers
With no "size" charts available it would be near impossible to match up any tires to wheel combinations. furthermore, with so many different (and growing every day) tire mounting styles you are again up against another variable, i.e. lugs, inner raised sections, hollow, and so on. -

To what end? Maybe if you would elaborate on why you want this information more could help you. -

I like Nick's answer, as did master modeler Gerald Wingrove. -

Anyone have any luck finding this ? I've been getting these at the magazine rack at the local grocery stores for many years now usually about this time of year. Haven't seen any this year. Here's what last years looked like.

Cal Custom 40-40 scoops, which kit ?
Greg Myers replied to Greg Myers's topic in General Automotive Talk (Trucks and Cars)
Can't leave well enough alone. The scoops I used on the '40 Ford build were indeed from the Mustang kit as I did have that kit when it first came out and have never had the Imperial kit. One can clearly see in my pictures that the scoops do indeed have the angled front edge. Actual pictures of actual parts vs drawings in the instructions. I think what we have here is a dead horse. -
Yellow tags at Hobby Lobby
Greg Myers replied to Greg Myers's topic in General Automotive Talk (Trucks and Cars)
Just back on track . . . Just visited my closest Hobby Lobby. Ask to see the Iwata air brush combo, gun, hose and other dodads listed at $179 with a yellow sticker @ $149. Then I discovered the gun was a bottom feed cup. I was looking for the Gravity feed open cup. It was also $149 (yellow sticker but no gray sticker) also no hose. After talking to another customer about airbrushes , he said he was happy with the Iwata NEON brush, I decided to go with that at $49 , yellow sticker. I had already talked to two Hobby Lobby employees and was now on my third. She apologized after getting the airbrush out of the cabinet saying she had to walk me up to the front as this was their new store policy on expensive locked items. One of the other employees also eluded to this. I ask her about the yellow stickers and she said this was also a new store policy dealing with higher priced items to eliminate the use of their 40% coupons and it was not an indication of a sale item. So there you have it. At least for the Bell road and 76th ave. in Phoenix AZ. -
AMT/ERTL 64.5 Mustang 1/16 scale
Greg Myers replied to martin9428's topic in General Automotive Talk (Trucks and Cars)
I find most of these older AMT 1/16th kits are short on detail in many areas. It's as if they just enlarged their 1/25th kits to the larger scale. I also feel Monograms 1/12th series, '57 Chevy, '69 Camaro, and C2 Corvette are also short in a few areas, interiors especially. They do have great engine options, however. -
I did a lot of painting on 1:1 aircraft when I was in navy and experienced many of these things as well. Often times it was due to temperature and or humidity, I was using lacquer and epoxy paints all within mil-specs.

Funny how these things can go off on a different track and yet stay close to the main line. -
What clear to use on Duplicate-color ?

Lookin good David. I didn’t have any problems other than the wife opening the patio door to complain about the fumes. close the door ? painted mine outside. 72 degrees, sunny, little to no breeze. Heated up the paint in a pot of hot water from the Faucet. Good to go, just not much shine. so, clear coat. Floor polish..?
