  1. Got both of those. Cool, inside AND out.
  2. Those came from my parts bin. Also available in the "Pie Wagon" kit. http://www.modelcarsmag.com/forums/topic/128087-cal-custom-40-40-scoops-which-kit/?tab=comments#comment-1858606
  3. To clear this up, these are the scoops in question. They were in an early model car kit issued in the mid sixties. They were two parts two to a kit. The 1:1 scoops were made by Cal-Custom and were available for two and four barrel carbs. The scoops we're looking for here are the four barrel scoops. The question is, what kit did they come in?
  4. Thank you for the helpful contribution.
  5. Yep, automotive related enough for ya ? What kinda carb is he workin on there ?
  6. Just love that old "Hot Rod: stuff. What ever happened to "Hot rod primer" ?
  7. and they are for the smaller two barrel carb and not two piece, but still good stuff.
  8. Pretty much out of the box except the carbs.
  9. This was from a couple of months ago. '49 Ford theme build. AMT kit, not sure what edition.
  10. Thanks everyone. We've covered the obvious. Now where the heck did these little two part jewels come from ?
  11. Chris Drysdale ask: " Greg, I think that's the first time I've ever seen someone scratchbuild realistic hollow Cal Custom 40-40 scoops! Or did they come from a kit?? If so, which one? " I've been trying to find out myself. I thought they came frome an original Revell "55 - '57 Chevy kit'
  12. Not sure if this is just box art for arts sake or actual box art, There are a few more.
  13. I like the Rivals. The Anniversary thing sounds too much like something stoplite does every other week, red cars, brown cars, etc.
  14. My gripe is with the BIG engine kits by Liberty, Revell, Hawk and Lindberg. 1/6th scale, what gives ? Too big to fit in any of the large scale kit around, Big Tee, Big Deuce, or anything else. Then getting on board with the 1/6th scale engines anyway and they jump to 1/4th scale. I was really looking forward to the HEMI A990 drag version, nope, 1/4th scale. And their clear HEMI, yep, 1/4th as well.
  15. Good Question, I could have sworn they came out of an original Revell '55 or '57 Chevy kit. My Model guru and I have been trying to figure this out for awhile now. I remember seeing them in box stores in the sixties and then putting a pair on a real '41 Ford flathead.
