The last one arrived today and do not need any more, this one has the engine parts the other one was missing and have all the parts for the 60s kit bash. This one was heavily glued and the bed broke taking the bed cover off so I doubt I will be able to save many more parts,I am going to see if I can salvage the chassis but everything else will be destroyed taking apart.

Picked up a unbuilt kit a couple years ago and did not want to build it the way it came,I am going for a early 50s hotrod look which there no parts to use so I found a same era 40 pickup that has what I need. The 40 was built but had the stock rims and hub caps in the box unused and plucked the engine out of the 40 and found a partial Pontiac engine from the 34 one of my cousins built for the trans. I am going to put. Newer version chassis under the 40 in the future and never thought I would find all 60s parts to do this kit bash and might be awhile before I get to it since I have other projects in front of it.

I picked up a couple nice built Monogram 40 Ford pick ups and would like to make one a shop truck so is there any place that sells decals for a gas station or body shop.

I know I will have a bunch of money in getting what I want but I do not care,I have spent over a 120 dollars getting three Monogram 40 Ford pickups mainly to use for parts on a all period parts bash build on a unbuilt 34 kit. The first two were too nice to rob parts from and the third one has the box and the parts I mainly want unused so I can build it with mostly all unused parts,it's hard to imagine a kit bash using all 1964ish parts that are unused in 2022. There is no way I could have done this without a computer and would have spent a ton of money in gas running around trying to find this stuff.

Can anyone identify these rims.

If anyone can use those 8 lug rims let me know as I doubt I will need them but you know what happens when you get rid of something then you need them. -
It all started with the unbuilt 34 Ford kit and then getting three 40 built trucks to get period parts to use on the 34 kit, then the unbuilt 36 kit came along that is being started and then a built 36 came along that I saved. Back in the late 60s my uncle gave me a bunch of Monogram models he build and wish I would have kept them and will try to get them all again.

I had some hood sides but one broke taking it off the body.

This one arrived in the mail today and could not find any trace of turquoise so were any molded in black,it's a 60s kit or someone made sure to paint every part of the body. This one was also going to have some parts robbed off it but again too nice and do have one with a box and unused parts coming that will have parts robbed off it.

Yes it's a Monogram as it has the same numbers cast in the parts as my unbuilt 36 kit, after further investigation I seen someone have carved a slot in the engine for the axle. The original builder must have used AMT parts for a better selection of wheels,I am going to keep those axles and use rims and tires I have in stock. -

The other two look to be scale 13 or 14 inch and I thought it kind of looked like a 8 lug rim. -
I picked up a 60s built 36 Ford coupe that fell apart in transit,it had been built with AMT suspension so I found a matching set of rims and will try to find paint to match. It came with mismatched chrome rims from the 60s.

Did Monogram ever use metal axles
junkyardjeff replied to junkyardjeff's topic in General Automotive Talk (Trucks and Cars)
It's definitely Monogram as it's molded in tan and has the same numbers cast into the parts as my unbuilt Monogram 36 kit, going to leave the AMT? axles on it for now. Might end up getting a later kit for axles since I need the later kits engine for the unbuilt kit. -
