  1. Thinking about a stock engine for the S&H Torino so are there any kits out there that would have a stock mid 70s Ford engine, not too picky on which one and can be 302,351 or a 460. I would like one completely stock down to the air cleaner.
  2. I would like to know who built them but have a feeling the people I got them from most likely clean out estates.
  3. When I built it I used stock A front wheels and semi rears but last week I ordered more correct wheels and tires.
  4. It would have been a shame to the blue and black ones for parts and I would have put them back togather but after looking at them I could not do it,now the one with all the decals had a broken front suspension and the stock rims and hub caps still on the trees so I removed the back halves of the rims and the engine. The engine was missing the carbs so I picked up a fourth that was a severe glue bomb and broken front and rear suspensions so I grabbed the engine from it and returned the engine to it and found parts to fix the front suspension so it went back togather and it can live one.
  5. The paint started cracking like it was reacting to a different type of paint even though it was another coat of the same paint.
  6. I will have to look at it when I get home from work,I did not pay any attention to the engine when I opened the box. I do remember that 72 was slow.
  7. A friend's dad had a 72 Torino work car that had a six,it's been over 30 years since I last seen it so does anyone know if it was the smaller six or the 300. I have a Starsky and Hutch Torino that is not going to be built like the movie car and thinking about a six if they were still available at that time, since I am at work what engine does the kit come with as I never checked.
  8. The bed is not glued on so I can paint it eventually,I tried the first two times with Testors dark blue and must have been old paint as it came out lumpy and the third time I used a Rust-Oleum dark blue that was a tad bit lighter but the paint decided to check on the second coat.
  9. I will be going back in a couple weeks and can grab some pictures if you do not find any.
  10. I have been having the paint check after giving it a second coat even after letting it dry.
  11. If I could have seen this thread yesterday before I went to my local old junkyard I could have gotten some pics as there are plenty of mid 60s Pontiacs in it,not sure how many would still have a complete engine.
  12. All three were initially bought to be used for parts but the blue and black trucks were too nice to cut up,only the turquoise one donated parts to my future build.and later parts were used to put it back togather. After surviving from the 60s I could not take the two apart, they now are going to be displayed. I originally thought the black one came molded in black but found traces of turquoise so someone did a nice job of painting it,in the back ground is a 80s version to be built.
  13. I did not like all the decals at first but I am beginning to like them.
  14. I made the racks from two sets from the 80s versions and parts from one rack from a AMT 34 Ford.
  15. That is the color it's molded in.
  16. I got this one for the stock rims and hub caps for another build but it deserved to go back togather so it's now done.
  17. The pick up is a survivor that had broken suspension.
  18. It's now finished and has a Y block under the hood,as soon as the paint on the rims dry that Monogram 40 pickup in the back ground will be done.
  19. We might be getting a little more picky now.
  20. It was painted in the 60s and could not match the paint and did not want to tear it apart to repaint.
  21. I bought it off Ebay for parts but it was too good to cut up,it had a AMT flatbed on it so I found a 80s version bed in stock. I painted the bed 3 times and the paint messed up so it's staying in primer and made up some side racks and it's done for now.
  22. I will make it look more like a Y block when I find some parts.
  23. It does not have a oil filter but what looks like a oil filter could be the fuel filter that bolts on where the road draft tube went on the earlier engines,I bought a 62 292 from a Galaxie that had a fuel filter right behind the fuel pump. The AMT 57 and 57 cars had a better engine.
