  1. It looks like a Y block with FE heads.
  2. I have a 72 Mercury Monterey I might try to build when I get bored and see what I can do with it.
  3. The heads look to have the area where the exhaust manifolds attach missing so I am going to come up with another set of heads and intake before I use it.
  4. The block looks like a Y block but the heads and position of the distributor are not correct but has Y block valve covers. The details on the block and oil pan look just like the 64 292 from a F100 I picked up a couple years ago.
  5. Not sure where I got it and it has a truck rear sump oil pan and a hole for a axle so could it be AMT early 60s F100?
  6. Posted a wanted add looking for some parts from this kit for another project and was given this one, thinking about stretching the frame and making a flatbed with parts from the trailer. It's missing the A100 but the truck and trailer are complete.
  7. Decided to use a AMT dropped axle and found a unknown Y block that will go in,need to find some paint that will match as it will get steel rims and hub caps. I have a glue bomb body that I am going to keep as a mock up body.
  8. I am going to measure that dump bed this weekend and get pictures of it.
  9. Looks like I will be using a Lindberg 40 front axle.
  10. Have some parts on order and will try to find some frame rails to use to extend the frame so it looks more correct. Unfortunately the partial L700 kit I have was missing one of the frame rails.
  11. I am taking a Monogram 40 Ford pickup from the 80s and going to make it into a larger truck,I know the larger trucks had different front sheet metal so this one is going to be a farmers home built truck. Digging through a bag of parts a friend gave me I found a partial frame and two speed rear end from the Lindberg Dodge cab over, need to come up with a truck 4 speed and will add a home made aux trans. Not sure on the bed right now as I would like to build a wrecker but I might try to build a dump bed like that is on a 41 to 46 Chevy truck in a local junkyard.
  12. Found a complete cab and front fenders in my parts boxes so that is now going to be the base of the larger truck,it's most likely going to be some home made tow truck beater.
  13. Also not crazy about all the decals but they will stay.
  14. Seeing the glue marks on the bed got me concerned since I did not want to paint it and would have to come apart to repair, just planning on detailing the chassis and put it back togather.
  15. I bought it for parts to use on a all 60s Monogram kit bash but what is left is worth saving,I have a 80s version coming that I was planning on using the chassis for this one but had a scare when I noticed it had the custom exhaust that attaches to the bed sides and they were not on but found them in the box. Did some looking in my parts boxes and might have some front suspension parts to fix the original chassis and put it back togather as it was built. I might have some custom parts left over that I will probably never use since it came with all of them.
  16. After a close inspection of the 60s version I was wanting to save with the 80s chassis it might be a better candidate for the large truck, someone had put the custom exhaust that attaches to the bed sides and if I can not find any then that's the one going to be a big truck and the bed will become a utility trailer and that is if I can find dually rims and tires. Might be a project down the road.
  17. Plans might be changing for this build,I got the 80s version for the bed to put on one of my 60s built eBay purchases and the chassis and drivetrain on another I used for parts but got the messed up paint off the bed I was going to use so I will have a complete body. I got on to Scenes unlimited s website and looks like it was taken over by another so I do not know if those dually wheels are still available so it might get built as a half ton but will see what I can find.
  18. Would like to get the Opel but out of my budget right now and will check and see what I have in my parts stash and go from there, spent too much money getting the parts for the 60s parts bash and doctor bills will be coming soon for the surgery last friday.
  19. I do not remember seeing them in hobby shops but never looked at military models since they usually were a different scale.
  20. Is that Opel Blitz easy to get.
  21. Might just build a home made truck,I remember seeing those trucks but did not know what year they were ,going to get a set of dually wheels from Scenes unlimited and see what I can build. Was there a kit that had a hand crank style wrecker as that might work better for a home built truck.
  22. I am going to have a Monogram 40 Ford pick up cab and front fenders and thinking about building a larger truck so did the larger trucks share the same front sheetmetal as the half ton or was it the one with the different front sheetmetal or was that one a different year, thinking about building a tow truck this time if I can find a donor for the winch and other related parts.
  23. I lied and bought another,it's a 80s version that I got for parts to fix two 60s versions. I got a can of bad paint and messed up the bed for the 40 that had the flatbed and need a chassis for another that I robbed parts off of,the bed with the messed up paint will become a utility trailer.
