Johan ? 1965 Plymouth Fury engines
junkyardjeff replied to junkyardjeff's topic in General Automotive Talk (Trucks and Cars)
Both of my 65s have hemis so it looks like that's the engine they came with, the blue one will retain it but I have a 440 for the white one. The hemis from the Fury and Coronet will be combined to build a complete engine for the Coronet -

With the Coronet restoration coming up and trying to make a decision on a engine,I think I have the hemi that came with it with some none correct parts and a couple Lindberg 426s but I got thinking about a 318 poly so were any ever made.

I want to build this one like it would have came from the dealer and use the hemi for a 69 Barracuda restoration since it has a cross ram intake the 69 is missing. Now to find correct hub caps/wheels or something close. -
MPC 65 Coronet engines
junkyardjeff replied to junkyardjeff's topic in General Automotive Talk (Trucks and Cars)
That is a good question,I think the loose hemi I have is from the Coronet since it has the 727 trans but has a blower added and I have two hoods with one being stock and the other having the twin scoops with holes cut for the air cleaner clearance. I think I have a 426 from the Lindberg kits so I could actually make it like the way it could be ordered from the factory,I will try to find the 426 and go from there. The 65 Fury that I think was built by the same person has a hemi with the cross ram intake but no carbs. -

Is there a kit that could have more correct wheels and hubcaps that is readily available. -
This came in the batch with the Coronet and most likely built by the same person,it has a blown Hemi in it which one would think would not come in a Fury kit but it was built like a race car and with fender skirts looks horrible so it's going to be rebuilt as a normal Fury so what kit would have a appropriate 383 I can put in it.

I do not have the parts from the 69 but I am looking for those parts too as I have one to restore along with the Coronet so I will need two intakes. -

I have a hemi that came with that model and other Mopar models but was out of the car but has a blower, would that cross ram intake also be similar to the 69 Barracuda setup. -
I am going to be restoring a original MPC 65 Coronet this winter and it does not have a engine and wondering what engines came with that kit.

I have a extra front bumper if anyone needs one,I got on a bidding war on ebay and payed too much for it.

It only took a couple years for a pair to show up,I thought it was going to end up as a parts car .

Not reproduction but originals.

Looking for the two four bbl intake and carbs to put on a 65 Wildcat,I have the air cleaner.

I have the tub with dash and column.

This came from a thrift store missing the bumpers, hood and two wheels. It took two years to find the parts but today I found the bumpers and it will start when I figure out the colors I want.

Were there kits originally built as original trucks years ago or are they a much later version, the reason I ask this is I am working on the pick up and going to put in the engine from the 56 Thunderbird kit and noticed the engine mounts in the frame are very similar to the original mounts. They had a single mount up front and two mounts at the bellhousing and this kit has them in the same place even though the engine that comes in the kit is a EFI 302 and those engines never had the mounts in that location even in the trucks.

Monogram 55 F 100

I presume the panel truck has the same suspension and the engine could be a little more detailed. -
Was hoping it would be a quick.build but damaged the paint trying to get the flames off so it got repainted in Testers yellow. Had some reaction to the paint I used on the interior so it's getting redone and still waiting on the unbuilt engine to arrive as the one I have is missing parts.

This 61 was in the collection of parts I picked up a few years ago and had a very bad top chop,I put a new body on it from a later kit but still using the original chassis and interior. If anyone would be interested in the chopped top body message me and it's yours.

I like the 37 to 39 better but most get the 40 to 42 front clip.
