Ordered some tail lights off eBay, sometimes I think it would be cheaper to buy a new kit then trying to bring back junkers.
-
I might have one more good body but nothing else, going to leave the body painted as is but the fenders and hood will be other colors. Just going to be a beater.
-
Out of all the AMT 40 parts I have I can build one more 40,this one is going to be a beater with multiple colored body parts. Took three frames to make one with bumpers and my last good suspension parts, just going through my parts and building beaters before I get to the unbuilt kits. This one and the sedan delivery In am reassembling will be my last AMT 40s for a few years since I have about 20 and wait I do have a coupe I built back in the 70s I need to restore but can wait until next winter.

I am needing both the front and rear suspensions, could be from any of the versions.
-
I will reassemble except for not gluing the chassis back on, going to look for another chassis and suspension so I can use the 60s 40 pickup wheels.

Trailer hitches
junkyardjeff replied to junkyardjeff's topic in General Automotive Talk (Trucks and Cars)
I checked and the hitch I wanted is out of stock so time to make one, want to put one on the 40 Ford pickup shop truck I am working on. -
I have a set of rims from the 60s 40 pickup that could go on this to get rid of the 70s look if I can get the wheels of the axles without destroying them.
-
Picked this one up locally falling apart so it's going back together, looks like someone put the 60s body on the 70s chassis.
-
I got this one off eBay falling apart just for the engine for a 34 Ford project, decided to put it back together using some 60s parts I accumulated since getting it. Stock engine, hood and tailgate came from the 60s parts and the missing rear fender came from the latest version, need to find decals to make it a gas station shop truck and a smooth bed cover from the 60s kit.
-
Does anyone make decent trailer hitches.

Can anyone identify this color
junkyardjeff replied to junkyardjeff's topic in General Automotive Talk (Trucks and Cars)
It's not Testers metallic green as the fenders are painted that color now, going to soak that body and just paint everything metallic green and be done with it. I would loved to match that paint but just too old. -

Will take the body with me to the hobby shop and see what is closest as it most likely was painted in the 60s but would be nice if still was available. -
Picked up this 60s Monogram 34 Ford body that was most likely painted in the 60s,going to make it full gendered and trying to match the paint if possible .

Polishing a molded in color body
junkyardjeff posted a topic in Model Building Questions and Answers
I picked up a molded in black AMT 49 Ford and since it survived this long without being painted I would like to see if I can make it look like paint so what do I need to do as I have never done it before. -
30s cars made into trucks
junkyardjeff replied to junkyardjeff's topic in General Automotive Talk (Trucks and Cars)
I can imagine the trunks in the later 30s coupes were wider then a 34 so I will have to cut on the body some, planning on using a model A bed. -

What I will make it from is a 3 window coupe and do like the ute but since my parts are on the rough side I am going the home made look,I have seen beds that slipped in the trunks so that is what I will try first.
