I have located a convertible and will get it. -
My next new build will be the 40 standard coupe but I do not want to build it stock,I think the convertible version is more of a hotrod so can parts be interchange between those two kits. Then maybe a stock convertible could be built.

!978 Dodge D 200
junkyardjeff replied to leafsprings's topic in Model Trucks: Pickups, Vans, SUVs, Light Commercial
I like it,done the same with the short bed step side version and put in a slant six. -
I think I picked this one up for parts to use on the Spirit of 57 I built back in 78 but did not have what I needed,I cut the hood loose and was trying to make a normal 2 door sedan out of it . Buick nailhead and 4 speed and put a normal firewall and got some inner fenders installed, its kind of rough but it got saved and not thrown out.

Here it is with 3./4 ton tires, looks like I accidently ordered 6 lug rims so I am going to order a few sets of 8 lug rims since I have others that might get converted to 3/4 ton. Found a big truck trans but does not look like there will be enough room without fllor modifications so its just going to be a 402 with a 3 on the tree.

Too late now but will have to remember that one if I want to build another.

The paint is about off so time to think about what color to paint it.

I think I got the paint too thick and it started to crack,I was painting it in a high moisture area and had to repaint it a few times but it is now down to bare plastic so I can start over. I really wanted to find a 235 six to put in it but did not want to wait to find one so it was painted to look like it had the cheaper V8.

I picked this up along with some other models and parts out of a car in a junkyard north of Richmond Indiana back in the fall of 74,it was built but not painted but was missing the suspension, engine and hood. I cobbled up some suspension and put a engine in it and brush painted it with some 60s Pactra paint that I got from my uncle and probably still have the bottle,a few years ago I picked up a new chassis and interior along with a correct resin hood so the time is right to start on it but need to find the correct engine. It and a few tires are all I have left from what I got back in 74 and can not believe its been 46 years ago since I got it.

I had issues with the paint and it finally came off after soaking for months so its back on.

Chevrolet Van/Medium Duty Chassis Cab
junkyardjeff replied to Fabrux's topic in General Automotive Talk (Trucks and Cars)
I remember seeing them and must have started making them after I left the Chevy dealer, had a few of the normal looking ones come in but not that one. Must have been the heavier duty version.
