  1. Great job on the patina. Glad you didn't "gloss" it over.
  2. Looks good to me. Nice and clean.
  3. Nice! I just started a 66 Chevy Fleetside which has the same paint scheme as yours. Great minds think alike! LOL.
  4. Project finished and posted at this thread. Chevy LUV 4x4 Under Glass
  5. Finished up the project. The term "Under Glass" is a bit grandiose, but here it is. If you followed the "on the workbench" thread you will know that this project was to replicate my real truck (pictured below) as close as possible. Real 1/1 also was a V-8 4x4 built by my father and I back in 1978. The kit was HTF, but a fellow modeler on this site dug it up for me. A thousand thank yous for that. I modified the running gear into a 3/4 ton because the kit one looked a bit small. I found some great tires/wheels over at Scenes Unlimited that worked perfect. I repainted the truck with Rustoleum Spa Blue which was pretty close to the real one. Thanx for looking!
  6. Great looking cars.
  7. They are the T21 SUPER SWAMPER 37", but it looks like they are sold out. I also grabbed a set of the T12 TRXUS M/T 46" for my full size 66 Fleetside project. Their stuff is great and they are very easy to deal with.
  8. Finally found the old kit that I was searching for thanx to a modeler on this site! I wanted to build a replica of my 1/1 72 Luv truck pictured below. It has a 350 Chevy with CJ-7 running gear. The kit comes in light blue, but it wasn't quite right, so I repainted it with Rustoleum Spa blue. I did not like the teeny axles that came with the kit, so I put a 3/4 ton running gear under it with some awesome tires from scenes unlimited. I had to extend the frame a bit and tussle with the fitting of the transfer case. I built a cross member (not shown) and trimmed the depth of the gas tank as well as the spare tire mold to make the rear end fit. Added some color to the interior and my first attempt at using embossing powder for carpet (came out ok) and added double shocks. Final mock up for ride height check. Still going to build bumpers and roll bars when the styrene rod comes in the mail. Awaiting glass in the mail as well. Here is big brother with little brother, LOL. Thanx for looking and thanx to all of you fellow modelers for posting your projects.
  9. Looks real nice. I just finished one last month. Very nice kit that went together nice i thought. Kept mine stock to replicate my brothers 1/1 wagon.
  10. Molotow Chrome Pens at Amazon
  11. Great job on the chop.
  12. Holy Moly! What a great, tedious job. Is there a finished truck anywhere as this thread is almost 2 years old? I'm building one now and I might be ashamed to post it after this build. Wow.
  13. We had one just like yours too with a 180hp turbo on top. Nice build. I love that body style. A friend had a mid-engine aluminum block Buick 400 in his and it would scare the bejesus out of us.
  14. Holy smokes! That is epic!
  15. Guess that's the best way to keep parts from flying onto the floor!
  16. Ahh, thanx for the info.
  17. Another nice one!
  18. Just finished this build replicating my brothers old wagon he had when we were much younger. It was just Gray and White. The kit was awesome and fit together very well. It was my first 2-tone paint job, so I figured I would paint it all white first, then mask it for the gray. Just in case I messed up the taping, it would just be the white parts. Came out pretty good and then did the Bare Metal Foil before the clear coats. Here is the finished wagon. Won't win any awards, but my brother will be very happy when I show him. Don't know why it lists the engine for orange and not blue, I went with the orange.
  19. Great job on the mod.
  20. Great job!
  21. Is the rear plate upside down on purpose or just an oops?
