  1. Looks great, very realistic , the paint scheme and color many were sold with back then.
  2. Excellent job! Great choice to go with the F 250 4x4 and forgotten 8' Flareside. It adds a completely new dimension to the whole build. Period correct wheels and color really takes me back to the 70's!
  3. Thanks for the info guys, great link Casey!
  4. The cracker box gets all the fame and glory for some reason, while the "tilt cab" model. which had a much longer production run, completely got ignored in 1/25. IMO, great opportunity for someone in the resin business to make a few bucks.
  5. A recent kit I purchased is already molded in black and would like a color change. What is the best color primer to use?
  6. Added bare metal foil to fuel tanks and air cleaner to keep that old Peterbilt tradition alive, the "touch of class"
  7. The GMC - Chevy tilt cab is on my resin wishlist want thread, for some reason GM units were never as popular as the Ford. Matchbox covered this cab very accurately 5 decades ago, another opportunity for the 1/25 cottage industry. Speaking of Larkspur, looks like Magnolia Ave.
  8. Chrome wheels are odd on this type of truck, but this might be another one of those GMC show trucks. Trailer looks very familiar. Frontier Resin offers the '60-'63 version on this truck. Rookie Resin offers the V6 engine.
  9. Great news Bill! Thanks agian for offering these pieces. The '64 shares the same body sheet metal as the '65-'66 pickups. With your grill with upper panel and emblems, we should be able to handle the rest of the conversion.
  10. Out of the paint booth! Testors 1847 Bronze.
  11. The GMC Sierra Grande pickup can't be much far behind! Great! I'm all for re issues, they allow us to affordably experiment ( kit bashing ) to provide the outcome were looking for. A luxury I couldn't afford when I was 10 years old in '73.
  12. Very impressive work! Great choice to convert to a 4x4. When I redo my frame, I will incorporate your upgrades.
  13. Now we know why real trucks have granny gears!
  14. I believe AMT tried to duplicate the wheel on the Peerless logging trailer, but didn't do a very good job. It was popular in the early 70's to have steel wheels chromed, since they usually always came painted on new trucks.
  15. Done a lot of research on the Budd wheel, as you know there are many variations. however, there is no manufacturer of these wheels known as "Truck Mate". IMO, Truck Mate was the company that chromed the wheels for Tyrone. The manufacture of this type of wheel must have been Motor Wheel Corporation or Firestone.
  16. Great box art! Still waiting for the KW Challenger mixer.
  17. Note the size of the rear axle hub of a 900+ series truck. AMT gave us a much smaller C 600 hub, not a C 900 hub.
  18. Used on an episode of Movin On, C Clayton's ( nutty, but likeable character) extra long wheelbase White Freightliner.
  19. I did a 4x4 F 100 conversion many years ago. I used the 70's AMT F350 frame with some modifications. Used the MPC Dodge 4x4 front drive axle, but made the mistake of not flipping it over, the Dodge differential is on the right side, the Ford differential is on the left side. Another mistake, hubcaps were not used on front axle, only on the rear axle.
  20. Thanks for the positive comments, here is another shot of the giant R 170 single drive rear axle ( correct for this application ), much larger than the axle found in most, if not all, AMT tandems.
  21. Here are the measurements, not sure how to convert 1/25 to 1/87
  22. Great job on the combo! The period fleet colors really stand out!
  23. Wow, incredible weathering, looks exactly like a used truck looks like after 10 years and 100,000 miles or 20 years and 200,000 miles! IMO, box trucks are sometimes too boxy. IMO, a smaller body, like a grain truck body, would be perfect. But as you know, they were never covered by plastic, maybe too regional of a thing.
  24. Another wheel that would be nice to have. The 19.5" wheel is correct for '56-'66 Ford and Dodge. Mainly found on 4x4's. It was done by very accurately by a die cast company in 1/16 on the '59 F 250 4x4, but we could use it in 1/25.
