  1. Thanks for the compliments! Used the midnite cowboy kit for the wrecker bed and the side panels were re shaped to increase the wheelbase. New photos with flash. Paint is a factory color Candy Apple Red.
  2. Just needs a few more details, but here it is. Thanks again to Moebius for offering this series of Fords.
  3. Looks great. Fat fender Fords are addicting. How about converting the pickup flathead into a large truck flathead? Here is a visual. http://www.vanpeltsales.com/FH_web/flathead_specs-337bigV8.htm
  4. Nice build, old fashioned, no frills fleet pickup.
  5. Very impressive work! The 4 door cab is spot on to the factory units first offered in '65. 8 lug steelies are a great choice. Looks like a ex railroad truck finding a new niche in life.
  6. Fantastic job on the F 250. Tu tone paint jobs were very common in the era, not to mention camper hauling. Looks like a factory correct Ford pickup color for '71. Grabber Blue? IMO, the only thing I would do is beef up the rear springs, I think the Moebius kit has a rear sag problem.
  7. Excellent job Bill! Please let us know when they become available. The '64 pickups could get away with your already done I beam axle and leaf spring front suspension. The one other thing that would be helpful is the inner fenders, which are more rounded than the '65-'66 inner fenders,
  8. Agreed, IMO, the average model builder is a lot more sophisticated ( and older ) than the average model builder when these models first came out. I would like to see a real frame, suspension and maybe a leaf spring option . On the interior of the cab, separate door panels and a bench seat option.
  9. Another fantastic job! Your tractor trailer combo is a lesson on how to do a realistic build. Every detail looks accurate and much more representative of the way most trucks looked back in the day. Most of us are following your steps in kit bashing and taking advantage of the aftermarket support to bring the reissues to the next level.
  10. Great work on the grill, I know the finished product will be outstanding as usual! The '63-'64 emblem is the exact same size as the '65--'66 emblem.
  11. Running boards, fuel tanks, air tanks and hood scoop added, almost ready for a primer coat.
  12. Nice work! The color looks dead on for an old U. S. dept. of forestry truck, just needs a gray roof. IMO, the Dodge kit wheels were always an eye sore. I would stick with the disc wheel theme. Scenes Unlimited and Moluminum have an excellent choice of very realistic 10 lug 5 hole Budd wheels.
  13. A Cummins in a GMC, I like this build already!
  14. Hi Bill, is there any possibility of doing the '64 Ford grill? It would require the section below hood as well.
  15. Maybe the kats at AMT can enlighten us someday. IMO, the first mistake was the stake bed side box disinformation. Now if someone wanted to put in a 361-391 ( second photo), which can be done by modifying the star truck F 350 pickup engine ( third photo), larger oil pan, drop center exhaust manifolds, larger air filter, larger distributor and fan, you would have an actual C 800.
  16. Fantastic build, super realistic in every detail! The fuel tank and tool box would be nice additions if you ever offer them. IMO, your 1 ton 6 lug wheels and heavy duty I beam and springs should be a popular conversion for all the 53 thru '56 Ford pickups kits that are out there.
  17. Thanks for sharing another of your great builds, seriously thinking of a Diamond, but with Budds and a longer frame for more of a West Coast theme. Not an expert on the design cycle of these trucks, but they look more early 60's, rather than early 70's.
  18. Wow! Super realistic build. It's very inspiring to see the potential and expandability of these great Mobius kits thanks to your additional never done before parts offerings.
  19. IMO, the wheelbase on the AMT dump kit is a bit too short. I slid the tandem back as much as possible on my build.
  20. The standard Pete 281 axle was the R 170, much larger than the axles used in a typical dual drive kits. My conclusion is the White Freightliner SD is the only kit that came with the big R 170 23,000 lb axle. I'll be using the kits spring suspension also. The Ford C 900, the only other single drive kit, must have a smaller 22,000 lb Eaton.
  21. Great job on the build. The conversion to 3/4 ton and the color combo really does justice to this Moebius kit.
  22. Before the aftermarket resin 1 ton wheel became available, I experimented with 1/32 truck wheels and tires from Fujimi on a 1/25 scale 1 ton Ford.
  23. Wheels and tires look great. Your one your way to a super realistic build!
  24. Excellent job! Sure wish Ertl would have covered this model back in the day. The authenticity and craftsmanship of the cab and body are very impressive!
  25. Very nice build! I like the detail done to the grill and bumper!
