  1. Really appreciate the comments. Finally got the car cleared, not sure if I want to polish, but I know I will. Played with the camera setting to try and get the color out right. Anyway, One of these should look good on your screen. I know one is over-exposed. Anyway, onto the engine and interior. Slow going, but coming along nicely now. Progress at My Fotki '06 GTO page Chris
  2. Joe, I don't have the kit, but traditionally they do mold them in color. Unless specified on the box like their plated cars or clear views. Chris
  3. I concur, LXZ's. Although the other ones look great too. Chris
  4. You aren't the only one with a wheel fetish Ismael. I just ordered two more sets from HLJ. What style are you looking for? What about the Fujimi Sportec wheel or the NT-03 +M? Here's my Wheel kits page. Maybe you can find something in their? If I can help let me know. Chris
  5. No doubt Tim, that thing is gorgeous in a dirty way. Very realistic and I agree, one couldn't tell by the pic about the areas you mentioned. Chris
  6. Well, things are going along bumpily I might add, but it hasn't broken me yet. I finally got the black trim finished as well as the light gun metal on the rear bumper. The front bumper is painted up as well. Here are those results: The front bumper, never mind the plate holder holes...: Rear bumper: The '06 tailights, well I think I have that licked. The AMT GTO kit comes with clear rear lenses. A little more detective work on the these and I should have all I need to get them to look right. Engine halves have been put together and painted and drybrushed. No pics of that yet. Hope to have the car cleared and polished in the next few days. Check the link for all the pics: My '06 Goat Chris
  7. Bill, That is fantastic. Those big ugly cars back then sure are pretty today. You are the master. Chris
  8. Their is so much stuff there that you can't take a picture of it all. The cars are unbelievable. Here are a few to whet your appetite and follow the link to all 108 I took. Here is the link: 2006 BTTF Chris
  9. Marc, that Impulse blue is gorgeous. I'm thinking I may have to pick up some spice red too. I'll be using the Impulse Blue on my 72 Blazer project. UPDATE: Well, as we all know mishaps can and do happen. I conveniently forgot that Murphy lives with me and shows me his laws each time I model. As I was pulling tape off, black paint layed itself on the roof. Not thinking (it was 11:30 p.m.) I thought just a spot of thinner would help clean it up. NOPE, should have let it dry and wet sanded it. So, I'm hoping I can re-spray the roof and keep on going. So, until the humidity drops I'll work on the interior. Chris
  10. Ismael, what type of engine cover are you putting on the MY05? Transparent or the regular cover? I've got to finish my Gallardo. Any idea what colors you'll be spraying on them???? Chris
  11. Hi Matt! Welcome! Darin, I've noticed a few other names over their dissappearing. Either they have not made it here yet or just gave up on the boards. However, I do agree with you. I definitely mean no disrespect, but it seems to clicky over their for me. If you don't build anything from 1964 back it's not accepted. I like it here and one other forum, where everyone appreciates the work regardless if they like it or not. Chris
  12. Looking good Ismael! I'm a Cobra Colors user too. Love those paints. Chris
  13. That is friggin' sweet! You couldn't have picked a better combination. The wide whites set it off. Great job! Chris You might get a kick out of these. My friend has a love for these cars. Anyway, thought you might be interested in seeing these. Didn't mean to hijack your thead.
  14. Steve, that looks lethal! I love the color combo and the wheels. Great job! Chris
  15. mmmmmmmmmmm Maranello. Black looks good on it Gregg. Is that a 355 in blue? Looking good. Good Luck! Chris
  16. Just a couple of pics. Here is what is involved: Polar Lights 05 Drift GTO (2, just in case I fudge up) AMT/Ertl 04 GTO Aoshima Bersaglio Spoke II rims Cobra Colors Brazen Orange Metallic Tamiya Paints Just out of the paint booth. Needs clear and semi gloss black and more clear. Hopefully in a few weeks I'll have it done. Just a quick Mock Up (sorry for the bad lighting.) Just a couple more pics at 2006 GTO Link Chris
  17. I don't recall the year of this Vette, and knowing Ismael, he'll know, but it is the first yellow C6 I have seen. In fact when I took the picture of this it was the first time I had seen that many c6's together and with almost all of the colors. Ismael, Your work is awesome. I look at your models for reference! LOL Chris
  18. Mike, Their is: Hub Hobby Scale Model Supplies Those are the two I would recommend. Hub is located just off of 494 on Penn avenue. Scale Model is located in St. Paul and would be a little harder to get to. In fact I've only been their once, they do have quite a few old kits for sale though. Just google hobby shops in Minnesota and pick out the ones near the mall. The MoA hasn't got a whole lot for car guys. Pro-Motorsports is about it. If you like NASCAR try Nascar Silicon Valley. Pretty fun. Chris
  19. This is the AMT Nostalgic series Firefighter Mustang II. Pretty basic little kit and was fun to build. I had some problems with the headers and the red plastic. The decals were a nightmare and they look ok. I'm not happy with them. I just wanted something to get me out of my rut and this did it. Tamiya Bright Red and Tamiya Semi-Gloss black on the body. Metalizers throughout. Here are the pics: More pictures at the link. Firefighter Mustang Chris
  20. All these great pics Billy and no pics of your great magnet?? LOL Must be just like your avatar right? Great pics too. I enjoy seeing everyone's model club meetings. Chris
  21. NICE! Thanks for the link Bob! Chris
  22. My modeling slump finally lifted and I started playig with this little gem. Simply put, I wanted to just build it straight from the box. No special this or thats. No full blown anything. A simple get over the slump build. Body painted in Tamiya Bright Red, the hood and bottom body panels are Tamiya Semi-Gloss Black. I hope to have it finished in another week or two. More progress pictures at: http://public.fotki.com/73superduty/my_com...ighter_mustang/ Chris
  23. I don't mean to hijack the thread, but Dave, NICE BUILDS! Loved the tow jobs, especially the old chevy. Chris
  24. Hey Ismael, I'll send some decals your way.... Your mask job is excellent! You've done a great job on the painted stripes. I've gotta ask though, where's the Ferrari touch here???? Chris
  25. Bill, that is simply awesome. I've always admired your work, however, I didn't know that it entailed this much engineering. WOW! Chris
