  1. Nice. the white and red interior looks great, the paint as well, great. The "new" gold wheels will provide a nice contrast with the red exterior. The Coupe Is a nice body style. I'm not a huge fan of tuners. Most young people think a body kit, a set of ugly wheels that cost more than the car, some flashy graphics, and a "fart can" makes a tuner. Most young people don't think about the motor. But when some one takes the time to do the Whole package, it is awesome.
  2. Looks Like that one needs some "reconstructive surgery". That truck will be a definite killer when it is done.
  3. Don't worry about how "accurate" the model is. For you, this was a nostalgic build. The revell kit is much better, but this was to bring back a little piece of your childhood. This build looks great, those old Micro-Machines always looked funny.
  4. I have seen 1:1 "street rod" brake kits that locate the master cylinder sideways under the dash. I have no idea how someone would fill the reservoir, but you could just leave it off, and say you did that, lol.
  5. I hear ya. I live in Canada, and have to ship almost everything from the US. I live in a back water town with little to no Modeling resources. I can get some paint, at a railroad shop, but little else. For a single kit it comes out to be about $30us including s&h. Not to long ago, not having a hobby shop, was not a big deal. I could go on EBay and order/bid on a kit and get it for about the same or less than a hobby shop. That included shipping and handling. I even got some harder to find stuff for a good price, but now, even a "cheap" kit will cost $30-$40 including s&h.
  6. Very nice, I've got one of those AMT mercs on my bench. I leaning towards more of a hotrod look. I'm trying to get up the nerve to chop the top. If I could continue a project from start to finish without getting sidetracked, I would post pictures.
  7. Sweet, from what I can tell from the single picture, and your C-cab build, this will be a nice rat. I (and many others, I'm sure) would like to see more. Yes, more. Is it a truck or a coupe?
  8. I don't have this kit, but i have heard that the Nissan motor leaves a lot to be desired. It is AMT's Wonderful 67 Mustang gt with the addition of the Nissan motor, a set of big wheels and brakes, plus "racing" seats. I have also heard it has a different hood included in the kit that is the proper gt hood, or something. As for the spell check, Internet Explorer has a button for spell check. That is what I use.
  9. Very nice. I don't build 1:24 scale , but that firebird has been tempting me .
  10. Looks nice. Is that the coupe or hatchback?
  11. Wow, that is a lot of pictures. Great for references, thanks.
  12. I'm a snow blower. Seriously, I work for a private contractor that has 4 government snow clearing contracts. I shovel the walkways at Hospital, Courthouse, Resource (ministry of water/land/forestry) center, and RCMP (police) station. I've been trying to get in to an automotive Mechanic field for several years. I took every automotive coarse in high school I could and I took a pre-apprenticeship coarse in the local college. I have had several jobs at tire shops, but the managers never like it when you spend most off the time over helping the Mechanics. I had a few entry level mechanic jobs that didn't work out, because nobody is willing to teach. My first part-time job was during high-school, I was a dishwasher, for 3 years. After high-school I worked for a building contractor, for the summer, to save up to go to school. After college I got a job at a automotive spring shop. That lead to a job at a detailing shop, a few doors down, that specialised in logging trucks and big rigs. Business got slow during the winter, so I took a job at a grocery store, stocking shelves. I worked there for over a year, before I got a job fixing and maintaining propane delivery trucks. After they cut my hours in half, I quite and went back to work at the detail shop. Again winter got slow, so I got a job at a tire shop. Shortly after I started the owner retired and the head mechanic took ownership. I was fired because "I was not suited for the job". I got another job at a different tire shop, but was laid off. Now, I have a job shoveling.
  13. Collecting Die-cast vehicle has been imprinted into the human Male's mind since we where children. I have a big box of Hot-wheels and Matchbox cars in my living room, that my son and daughter love to play with. Not to mention the 500 or so "sealed on card" Hot-wheels I have. I have a few larger Die-casts. Most of which have been modified. Don't forget, there are some nice unassembled Die-casts out there, too. I'm currently working on a Revell Fast & Furious 70 Dodge Charger Die-cast, that is more accurate, and easier to build than AMT's crappy 69 DOH turned 70 Charger.
  14. I just love reading these stories, everybody has. Just wonderful. It really give you an idea of what drives some of us. Well I started with Snaps in the mid-80s, the first was a Kenworth cabover. I think I was 5 or 6. In 89 (I was 8) the Keaton Batman movie came out and I loved it. I still have the original VHS. So one day my dad brought home the 1/25 scale AMT Bat-mobile. It was a curbside, but a great experience with my father. My first solo glue kits were an AMT 57 Belair Sport Coupe and a Revell 79 Camaro, Both built at the same time, no paint, in about 20 minutes. This was in early 91. I had gotten both kits for Christmas, when I got back home from travelling to see my grandparents, I "stole" my fathers testors tube glue and went to town. I still have the Bat-mobile but it has been missing the gun cover for years. I have always love the automobile. But have tried my hand at some aircraft, I had a Bell X1, I got at a flea market for $2.00 and a SR-71. And some Sci-fi stuff too, I build a few Star Trek ships, and a Star Wars X-wing (my first dry-brush weathering). I have been active in this hobby for all those years, I still find time to build even with 2 kids and an erratic work schedule. My father has since left the hobby, but will not give up his collection (that old bastardy ). I am doing my part to keep the hobby alive. I have gotten my children snap kits when every I find them.
  15. I don't know why everybody keeps calling those wheels "donk" wheels, I think the 22" t's look great, on you Imp. With 19s up front and in the weeds would make it look awesome. They are a vast improvement over the old Camaro wheels.
  16. Wow you have quit the collection going. If half my projects made it to paint, I would be happy. 99% of my builds get to the point where they need paint on the body then get box, until spring or summer, when I can paint outside. In most cases I get busy with other projects and forget about the others. I still have projects from ten years ago, that still need paint.
  17. Wow. How did I miss this? I love those aluminum wheels, the motor plate and the resin cross-ram intake. Pissss, I think your 4-link is missing a few links.
  18. WOW! You are lucky to have even one of those Johan Caddies. Both look nice. I like the lowrider the most.
  19. I'm a builder, not a collecter. Even if I have no plans for the kit, I still open it just to see what it is like, or to see if there are any parts I can use on other builds. I don't have a single sealed kit. I do have a few kits stashed a way, for when my skills improve. I have the Proshop 57 Chevrolet Belair, the one with the photo-etched parts, hidden away. I still intend to build it, just not anytime soon.
  20. My god, you must have the hands of a surgeon. I, too, bought one of those. I tried to build it as a kustom roaster pickup, but I never figured out what to do with the interior. I did leave the wheels, they paint up to be some nice "baby moons".
  21. I love this build, but I have a stupid question. Why are you covering up that beautiful hemi? The chop does look better now.
  22. Get 'R' Done It maybe fightin' yah, just don't let it get you down. You are the Master. Everything looks good, from my end. But with all those beautiful mods, the wheels are off. It seems that the "owner" cheeped out with some junkyard wheels. IMO
  23. I figured it out, . It needs a "pro-mod" style wing at the back. I understand it is done and I don't expect you to redo it just because I said so. Just something to think about, if anybody else has the idea to do one like this.
  24. Wow. That is sweet. I would love to see a full detailed version. I do think it is Missing something... I can't figure out what . I'll get back to you when I do.
  25. Dang that thing is loooonnnnngggggg. I love your builds, but where are the "builders"?
