Nothing significant, I put the first colour (red) on the body. I have the engine ready to drop in, the Interior is finished, the chassis is waiting for the engine, and I'm working on the steering. I'm waiting to get a new grille from a friend off another forum. All in all, I have nothing new to show you, at this time.

Looks interesting. Costhworth twin cam, where did you find that?
-
Looking great, buddy. I should have posted my gasser up here, instead of in the drag race section. I love how you did the six. A tow rig, that is a great idea, I'll have to get one on the bench soon.

Thanks for the comments, guys. The inspiration for this build, is the fact that you don't see these cars build as gassers. I love the line of the Victoria, so I wanted to keep the body as stock as possible. The colour choice came from a bone stock 56 Fairlane in these same colours, that has been in my home town for years. I had the kit with/out an engine for about a year, then I found a resin repop of the thunderbolt engine on ebay. The gears started turning and here it sits. I got the axle from, stated above, the Deora show-rod, because that is what I had on hand at the time. I'm glad you are enjoying my build, I got a few things to finish up, then the body goes in the paint booth.

Thanks for the input, guys. As for the colours, I want it to look close to stock. No candy, metallic or flake. I Just want a few small sponsor decals, and maybe a name on the rear quarter panel.

OK, here is a small update. I've got the interior almost finished. I have to paint the shifter boot, and a few touch ups on the dash. Here is a close look at the driver-side door panel. Here is the Thunderbolt 427 Ford engine with Lincoln automatic transmission. I have to find some chrome valve covers, add the headers, accessory drive assembly, distributor, and starter. You can see where I glued a strip of styrene to the intake manifold to close the gap between it and the heads. Here is the engine in place with the air-cleaner, One side still needs paint, You can also see where I removed the inner fenderwells. And last but not least, a body mock up. I have painted the rear wheels "Ford engine red" by Model Masters, with the center hub painted Testors gloss black. I need to paint the lugnut silver. The hood still fits with the air cleaner in place. This is how I plan to paint the body. I hope you enjoy. Comments and suggestions welcome.

Matching Factory Paint (If you are in a hurry...)

That is a great tip. I have one Question, Is that lacquer or enamel paint? -
I agree, but unfortunately, having tried to build this kit, the chop in box stock.
-
That looks much better. Love the tear-drop hood. Keep up the good work.
-
Looks good, from what I see, but I would love to see more.
-
Looks interesting. That is a hard kit to make looks good. Yes, I tried in the 90's. The rare fender flares look odd, but I can't say it was not built well. I'ld like to see what you can do with this.
-
Looks great, rodder. The stance looks a little low in the rear, but a good set of tall slicks should help that. The engine is awesome. I can't wait to see more of this one.

I have a suggestion for the gap. When I built the street rod kit in the 90's I cut the tank off the frame, and the tank cover from the fenders and placed the tank cover in place of the tank, filed, cut and putted to fit. Or just cut the tank cover from the fenders and glue in place. If I still had the build-up I would take pictures, but I don't.

I'm building AMT's 56 Ford Victoria as a gasser. I've posted it in the drag racing section. I know not every body looks in that section, but would like to see it. Here is a link to the thread, http://www.modelcarsmag.com/forums/index.php?showtopic=12240 Go check it out and let me know what you think.

I started this a few weeks ago. This started as AMT's 56 Ford Victoria kit. I cut the stock front suspension from the kit frame, as well as the inner fenders from the body. The new front axle is from the AMT Deora show rod. The springs on this kit go threw the axle, so I moved the springs on top of the axle, and filled the holes. To mount the new axle to the frame I cut the spring perches from the Deora kit chassis and glue them to the frame, placing a piece of evergreen styrene between the it and the frame, to raise the suspension a little more. You can see the motor in the back ground. The new motor mounts can also be seen here. The rear suspension is box stock with styrene rear "shackles". The motor is a resin piece from Missing Link, that is a copy of the Revell 64 Thunderbolt 427 fe. The Interior has two "custom" bucket seats from the kit and the roll bar from AMT's 49 mercury kit. The shifter is from AMT's 51 Chevrolet Bel-Air. Not shown is the steering wheel from the Deora kit with the spoke holes drilled out. I have an "issue" with the stock grille. There is, what looks to be, a slice out of the top right side, that has been "chromed" over. There is a lot more yet to be done. I hope you enjoy the pictures.

Nice, that hood looks great.
-
Pop's back door service. Very nice Modal A the wheels are perfect so is the paint. What else do you have hiding over there?
-
I knew this kit would be good , but WOW, you did an amazing job. I'm glad i have mine on pre-order, this is going to be the "hot" kit of the summer, like the Merc was last year. I just hope the end of July is not to late.

Very nice. Love the fade paint job

Found something I didn't know they made.
Robert81 replied to a topic in General Automotive Talk (Trucks and Cars)
You know I would, but I don't have the Petty Plymouth or the DOHC Hemi parts to do it. Besides I'm not much of a NASCAR builder, I like my Hot rods, street machines, and gassers. I'll leave the Idea on the table of somebody that does. -

That is some great info, Harry. I wonder how the DOHC Hemi would that look under the hood of Lindberg's Petty 64 Chrysler? That would make a sweet "what if" racer. -
Supercharged 4-banger?
Robert81 replied to curt raitz's topic in General Automotive Talk (Trucks and Cars)
the 4 maybe from a 1:1 tempest? -
What is really sad is somebody bid on it.
