It has been a long time, But not as long as some of my projects. What happened to the dual dominators? If you as staying with the single 4 barrel, I would go with Air cleaner #1. Unless you need the ground clearance, for headers, lower that nose for a good rake.

Sweet, back in the day there where many custom mid year vettes (no not the 70's). I can't wait to se how this Kool Kustom will shape up.

Thanks for the comments, guys. The paint will be a two tone Blue fade for top to bottom. Something like the Mako shark. The 1963Grand sport Corvettes used a cross-ram Weber intake for the small block Chevy engine, similar to this one for the big block Chevy. The wheels where a difficult choice, I had wanted to use the American Torque Thrust 2 and big and littles from the Revell 32 3 window, but I could not get the rear wheels to fit. These wheels are 20 inch Coddington's from the recent reissue of the Revell 50 Ford F-1. I think they work well with the modern Street Machine look I'm going for.

No love for my Vette?

I've had this one on and off the bench for close to a year. For some reason the wheels I wanted to use just didn't do it for me. This kit is the wonderful Revell 67 Corvette kit. The wheels came from the recent reissue of the Revell 50 Ford F-1. The engine is a 427, with a cross ram intake. The heads and water pump have been painted aluminum to represent aftermarket parts. The headers and sidepipes will be added after the body is painted (not shown). The engine is all box stock. The interior is box stock except for the addition of the Racing bucket seats from AMT's F&F 70 Monte Carlo. It is done in black and blue. The brush stroke are not as visible in person. The dash has white face gauges, and the steering wheel from AMT's 55 Belair (not shown) I shaved the bumpers and filled the rear exhaust ports in the body for a cleaner look. Aside from the wheels, seats and steering wheel, this is box stock. It is far from finished, but I hope you like it.

Looks good. Bob, I don't mean to de a "trouble maker", but I tried your tip and got the folki site, but not the album.

Well, Bill, after reading more details on what you did to this beauty, I love it even more.

Looking good. I like the first stance, but it is not my build. You ultimately make the final decision. As for the wheel fitting the tire, try son strips of thin sheet styrene glues around the edge. Hope that helps.

I do believe they are very close. Back in high-school, my buddy had the exact car you plan to build, 69 4 door, 250 inline six/powerglide. White exterior, blue interior, bench seat, column shift, AM radio, black 14 inch steel wheels. The Memories, I wish I had pics to show you.

Thanks guys, we had lots of fun building together. Yes, Eshaver, it looks like AMT did section the body slightly. Whether it was intentional, we'll never know. It makes a great look rod none the less.

Oh hey, Rick, this was the one you where talking about last night, over in the Drastic Plastic Chat room. Very nice. I'm going to be watching this one for sure.

I'm not a lowrider guy, but I know a good build when I see it. I've never seen that shape of "mint" green available before. Got to love the old Johan Caddy, can't wait for that one.

How did I miss this one? Sweet 'Stang.

What's next for the automobile?
Robert81 replied to Jairus's topic in General Automotive Talk (Trucks and Cars)
That for your input Nick. Considering it has close to 300,000 km with out a rebuild, and still has good compression. The stock rating of 68hp from 7 pounds of boost. The only mods are a custom 2 inch exhaust, (up from 1 1/2 inch, no cats) and cold air filter set up. Out of a 996cc 3 banger, I think 100hp is a good. That in a car that weighs 1600 pounds it is quick, not fast, and fun to drive. It is not big enough for the family need so it is not my daily driver anymore but i still love to drive it. In 87 that was good. The K-car is super clean, just rolled 130,000 km, but the AC doesn't work anymore. Had the original radio when I got it and all four of the stock hubcaps. It is a 2.5 4 banger with an automatic. -

Do you guys remember the Goe Metro XFI 50mpg out of a 1 litre 3 banger? I have two cars a 2.5 89 K-car, and a 1 litre 87 Chevrolet Turbo Sprint. the Sprint gets 40 mpg highway and 36 city, with 100hp and 10 pounds of boost. Fun as hell. the K-car gets 35 highway, 20 city. -
Yesterday, while I was building for the 48 hour Community build, on the TRaK in Scale forum, my son and daughter, wanted to build, too. I had a couple of 1:32 scale snap kits, I had painted up for them, so we had a family build session. My 6 year old son like the baby blue 69 Camaro. My 8 year old daughter like the red 68 GTO. This is my AMT 32 Ford 5 window. I started a 7:00am Saturday the 28 of June, finished 10:00am Sunday the 29 of June. It is not my best work, but it took only 27 hours to finish. Interior, the steering wheel is from the 56 Ford Victoria. The engine, the "stock" intake filed down, and the carbs glued on. The exhaust dumps from the 56 Ford Victoria. A pic outside, the paint is Dupli-Color Metal Specks red. the center of the headlight bar used as a spreader bar. Side, front wheels fro AMT old tool 57 Bel air, rear chrome steelies and slicks from the 56 Ford Victoria. I hope you enjoy.

1957 Chrysler 300c 'modificato'

Looking great, that is an interesting lowering job. -
Looking great, are you going to post this on TRaK in Scale, or is this too new (post 1969)? I just looked over there and didn't find it.
-
Very nice, But where do you keep your third hand, to hold the camera?

Thanks guys. As for the body, I'm using a paint I have no experience with, I got fed up with the looooong drying times of testors rattle cans and bought some Duplicolor. I want to wait a week or so before I spray another coat. The plan for the 50 is just lowered and maybe a shave. Going to keep the Ardun headed Flattie and the steel wheels. It will be painted red on the cab, hood, box, and wheels. Black on the fenders. I'm thinking a white grille to look like a base model. Load the box with tools and an extra set of slicks. I have to dig the trailer out. Florian: I think your choice of the 41 Chevy is perfect, considering you are hauling a Chevy. ###### 'n: you are very welcome for the invite.

This is the last update before final assembly. I was able to get the first cot of red on the body. The engine is finished a side from choosing the valve covers. I modified a coolant tank that I found in the AMT Barris Raider's Coach to fit the engine. The headers will be installed when the engine goes in the chassis the last time. The interior is finished. You can see the gauges and tachometer. And the chassis is ready for the engine. side view Top (or bottom) view I also got my tow rig today. I hope you like it.

The trailer is pretty basic. it is a single axle trailer, with two ramps, it has a nice hitch assembly. I have seen the trailer in earlier kits like the MPC Mako Shark 2 show car. I don't suppose you went to the Drag Racing section to look at my 56 Ford Victoria gasser? If you like Traditional Rods and Kustoms (not Rat Rods) PM me and I can point you to a great forum site, dedicated to that style of build.

Nice looking truck, Inline power, and a low stance. I'm waiting for my 50 Ford pick-up to get here, to start my tow rig. I got the trailer from the AMT 76 Caprice.
