  1. Holy cow!!!. I saw the first pictures and thought, "no way that can be saved." Then I saw the other pictures and almost fell out of my chair. I love those big Chrysler.
  2. Looks like you are making good progress on this Beautiful Mustang.
  3. Here is the heads up. Car is a Kustom 57 Buick wagon, named "Dorthie" Traditional Rod & Kulture Illustrated magazine. Issue #13, Spring 2008. Cover and pages 12 through 16. This exact picture shows up on page 14 and 15.
  4. Looks great.

    Ford F-1

Looks good. Care to tell us about it?
  6. Who you calling a slow poke?
  7. Ok, well in that case, I cut the center out of the scrap wheel, so just the outer sleeve of the wheel is present. I think it may look odd, but if you can't fit some sort of brakes in the front you may want to save the rear disks for another build. It is your build and you make the decisions.
  8. Looks great. Got to love the old mid-year vettes.
  9. I have a box full of ugly or unusable wheels, I use as shims. Just find one the right thickness you need. I usually trim the lip off the rim to help it fit inside the tire. Add glue and you are done.
  10. Nice, I know that one, but I ain't talking.
  11. Sweet looking build.
  12. looking good, I can see it making a 200+ mile per hour pass.
  13. Thanks there is a lot more to the chassis than just the Z in front of the firewall. there is a a step up, just behind the interior. and I had to build motor mounts to hold the Flathead. Here is a pic of how the frame started. and the finished frame. Here is a link to my Photobucket album for this built. http://s214.photobucket.com/albums/cc139/beardo81/Model%20A/
  14. Thanks all. It was very fun and took a lot of work to get it as good as it is. Thanks. I don't do "rats". They are ugly, unsafe, and a waist of good vintage iron.
  15. looking great. Glad to see this one done. I love what you did with the under hood detail.
  16. Finished at last. Lord knows all the grief this little roadster has given me. There where two failed paint jobs (I'm still not 100% happy with it), and the frame came apart more than once. But after 6 months, I'm putting a fork in this one, it's done. Well, onto the pics. Top down Top up Other pics. I hope you enjoy.
  17. Looks like a winner in my book, Rick. All the 67 GT elements really pull the over all design together.
  18. I'm glad you like it. The engine is the flathead from AMT's 49 Mercury kit, with the Offenhauser heads and dual stromberg carburetors. The headers are from two four cylinder in the Model A kit, with the center pipes scratch built. There is a "Bee Hive" style oil filter that is suppose to be mounted to the left head, but I'm going to mount it to the firewall.
  19. This is the final "on the bench post" for this build. After many set backs and issues, I'm finally on the home stretch. Here is the finished chassis. Here is the 49 Mercury flathead, with custom headers. My first ones. I had an Idea the other night to mount the wheels to the center drum of the stock Model A wheels. this meant using the wire wheels from AMT's 32 ford 5 window. I hope you enjoy. Next stop, the shelf... hopefully by Saturday.
  20. I would like to see that Flathead,
  21. It you are going to run a Y block, I would recommend you go with the 56. It has dual carbs, and scoops. A nice set of headers, too.
  22. Looks like you are making some good progress. Can't wait to see her done.
  23. I'm really glad you all like it. The key to a quick build, (at least is for me) is to plan what you will need and what you want to do to, and have it all ready to go when you start. The biggest rule is Keep it simple, stupid. I had close to a month to plan how I was going to do it, and gather what I needed. Even with all my planning there are a few things that I would have done differently and some things I missed.
  24. Thanks all. I had a lot of fun. 72 hours is nothing in the eyes of most modeler. It is just some thing I do with some members of another forum. It is more about get some on the shelf, when most builds take months. The 55 actually took only 48 hours, and the 32 took just over 24 hours, of coarse I did sleep and do other things in that time. They are not the best I can do, just a fun, quick build.
