  1. Nice rats. I have to ask, those drum brakes, where did you get them? How did you make the seats?
  2. Thank you everyone for your input. I'm trying to weather a 72 Chevelle to look to be about 5 years old and driven. Jantrix: Thank you for the offer, but I'm already on that OTHER forum, with the same user name. To be honest I "found" this site through a post there. I know of Mr. Mkowa,PhD and have seen his work. Very nice. By the way nice 57. Jairus: thanks for the advice, I think a book store in my town carries "Fine Scale Modeler", but isn't that a kalmbach product? VW Dave: Railroaders eh? That is very interesting. Raul_Perez: Unfortunatly the closest thing I have to a hobby shop, in my town, is a small toy store, that has a railroad/model section. hookedonplastics: Nice Duster. That is the information I was looking for. I'm hoping for something similar but not as extreme. Thanks to all, have a nice day.
  3. I'm trying to weather the chassis and engine on a chevelle and i need some help with a how to on "washes". I know how to drybrush. About all i know is to thin the paint but not how to apply it and make it look good.
  4. Darth drives a Z06? I always thought he would be have a big 4x4 SUV type thing, like a Hummer H1. Nice job on the builds, I love the concept of the figures building the models.
  5. Is it just me or do those small leaves on the fenders and above the tail lights look like pot leaves? Ok, I said it. Don't shoot me. Nice paint, despite the pot leaves. With all your other great builds I can't wait to see this one done.
  6. Ok thanks for the info. I figure it was 1/24 and those wheels... say 80's street machine to me. PS do you think anybody will know what we are talking about?
  7. Interesting. Is that a ferrari front clip?
  8. Nice. One question, the 53/4 chevy what scale is that? Ok two, are those wheels on the chevy box stock? They don't suit the gasser theme.
  9. I love them all, too. I've got a few coming for Christmas. Really they're the only models I've asked for.
  10. This looks interesting. I've never seen one of these.
  11. I love this model. traditional rods are sweet. "Rat rods" are new builds made to look old school. "Traditional rods" are built the way they would have been built in the 40's and 50's. "Backyard hot rods" are built with what you have laying around with little to no money. This fits in to both depending on the build style. Don't quote me on those because everybody has different opinions. And yes I'm playing around, too. awbcrazy: you beat me to it, but with more words, lol.
  12. That is sweet!!! I think i remember watching that race with my dad ( I was 7). that is the race he cartwheeled down the fence, right?
  13. No worries about the delay. Good things come to those who wait, and that engine is great. The tach on the dash is awsome.
  14. I like the Ferrari but I love the Duster!!! The Duster could use some weathering IMO. I have to ask, how did you do the "duct tape" on the seats?
  15. Very nice!!! I love Comets. How about some engine pictures?
  16. That is great!!! How did you get it to stay on two wheels?
  17. Holy ######!!! you guys both have an astounding collection of "Golden age" car mags. I see so many icons of 60's North Americian car culture. The Hemi Under Glass, Undertaker dragster, Uncertain T, and many more. I am in awe. All I have are some Car mags from the early 80's, plus a lot from the mid 90's on.
  18. I saw this build at "the other forum". The guy said that there where videos, but had no links.
  19. I'll second that. I had to scrape the frost off my 1:1 car windows yesterday. Gregg don't worry, despite my other statement, we have faith you will get it going. Somethings take time.
  20. I saw somewhere that they needs to get a new server. I'm not douting that he could have it up soon but I'm not holding my breath. I don't trying to be mean or rude but they are not cheap. It has been down as long as I have been here.
  21. Halloween was yesterday, (to busy with the kids) but I love this build. From being nothing but bones that guy sure gets around.
  22. Looks great, the wheels look good, too. The paint is beyond words. As for the motor, and keeping with the modern theme, I would recommend a Ford modular motor. Like one from a newer Mustang or Lightning.
  23. OFF TOPIC Where did you find a Metro?
  24. Nice goat. I like the paint, but the wheels look... a little too "tuner" to me. But, hay, it's not my model, build what you like.
