When did color fall out of favor?
Joe Handley replied to Lunajammer's topic in General Automotive Talk (Trucks and Cars)
Unless things have changed, I didn't find the headroom to be a problem, getting in and out of it..... yes, but not head or leg room at the time. I am appalled by the lack of passenger seat space in her Challenger though! -
if you can swing ine, look for a nice, comfy recliner, the one Mom sleeps in is very easy to do so, and it's one of those helping chairs that not only reclines, but also lifts and tilts forward.

Mom has been taking Tramadol for at least a year now, sometimes it helps her more than others. Just be happy you don't have night terrors to go along with the lack of sleep and the pain, she takes something for that every now and then if they start to pick up. Juzt out of curiousity, are you trying to sleep in a bed or in a recliner, that sometimes helps her sleep, and with all the time Dad spent with her at the hospitals and nursing homes last year when she wasn't quite with it, he's gotten to be the same way.

My kid sister had an '06 Charger, not the greatest amount of room back there, but it was at least usable. Now my 4dr '98 XJ Cherokee...........even if they didn't put a wall between the front and back seats of a police model, it could still have been considered cruel and unusual punishment to stick any suspect taller than 5ft tall back there. -
Great looking Daytona build, never had a real Daytona, but I did have a 4dr Hatch Lebaron with that engine and the 3sp Auto, very unsuspecting car. Speaking of Detective McCall, apparently her Daytona flew some, much like the General Lee, KITT, and Fall Guy Truck

Went out and bought some building supplies (mostly paint) without an employee discount for the first time in 15 years.......ouch. -

Wow, I'm kinda amazed then. -

No offence, but I have to ask, did he have a job? Sounds like he probably wouldn't like what I'm about to start training for (which involves sitting and talking to unhappy people), let alone the field sales job I had been doing or any of the retail stuff I did over the last 24 years. -
Lol, gotta love dealing with "kids" sometimes.

So far, only one persone has picked it up, and that was after doing a slight, Homer Simpson type" .........Ooooohhhhhhh.............", then asking permission. We had been sitting next to each other in sales and worked up a pretty decent friendship with each other, so I trusted him enough to say yes. He was wondering where to find them, since he thought it might be something his girlfriend would be interested in doing. I did warn him that it came in plain, white plastic, so she would have to paint it and showed him the blue Revell Drop Top PT Cruiser that was in the box with the Challenger that I'd just detail painted and foiled some (that will start changing this weekend), he thinks she'd like that she could paint it herself. -
Got a slight change of employment going on again of my own, ended up switching from Inside/Oustide Sales Rep to Customer Service Rep (IE, call center) at my current. It's not as much money as the sales rep job, but I still have commission income potential plus overtime pay if 40hrs is exceeded, don't have to go out and walk houses in 90°, high humidity weather, or put a bunch of rather abusive miles on and abuse the starter of my car, since the office is only 3.5miles from home, and I'm back to only 5 days a week. It's close enough to home that I could actually go back for when I get my 1hr lunch and the drive there and back is probaly 2/3 of the distance that the drive to where my old HobbyTown was.

That's probably about $600 for the kit to do a car like that. -

Nice, Good to hear I'm not the only one then! Been debating about doing a few snap and or glue curbside builds in different shades of green. Might even build one of the MPC Bad Company Dodge vans with the original wheels and tires from the above Challenger with the same Lime Ice. That Challenger is just a shock of BRIGHT GREEN amongst all that black, grey, and blue, that an even bigger block of it should really be eye catching -
Anybody ever bring a completed model to put on display in their cubile if allowed? I just brought in my last completed build from several years ago that was one of AMT's '08 Challenger R/T curbsides painted in a work appropriat color, Testor's Lime Ice Lacquer, only I've swapped the stock rubber for some Aoshima rollers that looked better on it. I'd post a pic of it on my desk, but due to credit card security issues, we're not allowed to take those kinds of pics.

Check out www.dipyourcar.com , that will be your Paas Easter Egg Kit for cars and trucks. Not only can you get a full, color shifting finish for maybe the price of a Maaco paint job, but it can be sprayed over if you decide you want to try something different, or just peel it off like liquid mask if you want to remove it and still have a nice factory paint surface underneith! It'll even prevent scratched from happening to the OE finish. -

Come on now, that not a darn thing wrong with that color......the vehicle it's applied to on the other hand..................... -
I ended up with a 103°+ temperature last night, not sure where it came from but I could barely make it around the house on the main floor and nearly passed out trying to get upstairs to my bed. I called off today so ce I kinda figured that if I was that bad last night, I didn't need to be passing out in the back yard of somebody who was at elderly and wouldn't notice me until it was too late, work, or worse, on vacation! Dashcam, maybe one pointed out the front and one pointed out the back of the cab.

There's a pot joke in there somewhere, I'm just to tired to go digging for it.

The SRX I saw was one, seen a couple of their more recent sedans in the typical pale pink and well as a nice looking pink metallic, those were pretty decent. This is true, they are pretty ungainly. That said, I'm no fan of crossovers in general, to the point the only ones I'd even consider thinking of buying would be the Trailhawk versions on the Cherokee and Renegade, mainly because they can actually go farther than a gravel road. -

That depends, I've seen a SRX Crossover in that shade of pink, it's not so good. -

I was at the dealership today to get an oil change before work and they did have a bunch of silver, white, black, and grey vehicles on the lot, but there were Challengers and a 4dr Wrangler in the new B5 blue, a bright red Hellcat and Grand Caravan, Plum Crazy Charger and Wrangler, a couple Durangos in a nice shade of Maroon, a couple Jeeps in almost an Olive Drab (but darker) green, a couple current body style 200 sedans in that really nice electric blue. Of course, I hit the tollway to run from North Aurora to Lombard, color kinda dropped off, although I did see two nearly identical, wet cement grey Hyundai Sonata sedans (well, I think they were Sonatas) almost collide near then 355-Joliet exit -

56% Income Taxes?! I think anything like that, even on the wealthiest in the country, went away when Kennedy was elected 56 years ago. I think it had been something like 94% on the wealthiest from WW2 up through Ike's administration, IIRC, it's some of how we paid for NASA and our Interstate System. State income tax wise, I think we're 4%-5% flat tax, no matter if you earned $14k or $14b, and give away tax breaks like they're candy...........no wonder this state is broke. -

That $15 dollars might be adjusted for inflation, but it doesn't account for licensing (that didn't exist then) or material costs (even with it cheaper now than recent years, oil is more money), probably could add a few more things, but I'm so tired that I'm having trouble spelling tired at the moment. -
Sounds like Friday and Saturday should he nicer, at least.......looking forward to that!

Either the weather today is nicer than I thought it was supposed to be, or I'm getting used to working in it!
