  1. Thanks Ed! Already got the info in so their people can do the background check as soon as they get the chance and I'll go in tomorrow for the drug portion. I'm not too worried about the drug end, only drug that would show up in any quantity would be caffeine (usually via Coke, Pepsi, Dr. Pepper, or Mtn. Dew) and I've been mainly drinking water of late, I've even been staying away from anything that has poppy seeds as well as any painting just in case that might show up. Background shouldn't be a problem either, my last ticket was in '04, which is the worst I've done and the most recent recorded infraction of any kind is when my parents took the same vehicle (my Jeep) to Iowa for a funeral and managed to get a parking ticket while there.
  2. Just saw this video Harry, at one time that beast held the speed record of 146mph, over 100 years ago
  3. I just got a call from a company that I interviewed with last week for a new job, they want me to go through the procedure for a drug test and background check, I may be at a new job by the end of next week
  4. We're on a family road trip right now and I now know that if I ever decide to lower my 200, it won't rub easily! Not only do we have luggage in the trunk, as well as an r/c truck and a full cooler, but my Kid Sister's boyfriend came with and he was in the back seat when I took this pic. Here it is completely unloaded.
  5. Took a trip to Iowa for the weekend and saw a transporter full of Teslas, what looked like the Iowa National Guard on manuvers, and a Grand National!
  6. Saw my first Tesla Model X today, so new it still had the paper temp plates on it!
  7. Looked to me like the car got out of shape and went airborn after hitting that bump and went sideways, then the slicks gripped and the car rolled..
  8. Very true, but that's likely where the 2116 Concept Car part comes into play, it just has to slowly roll around and look "good", not necessarily be driveable.
  9. Saw two mid 90's Buick Roadmaster sedans running in a pair today....................I rarely see one of those, let alone two running together in a group?!
  10. With how the those cut lines (round on the outside, square on the inside) in the front pontoons are positioned, I'll bet they're intended to steer with the front wheels, leaving the basic square portion in place while it turns. Not sure how it's attached on the outside, probably like a a motorcycle fender.
  11. Considering they were looking 100 years into the future here, it's probably intended to be autonomous. Not a fan of the outside, but the inside looks quite nice!
  12. Best of luck to you Harry, hope all goes well.
  13. Hmm, may have to ask my dealership then.
  14. I was tempted to see if they would sell me one for my Jeep this last time, it's only 18 years old and only has 160k on the clock. Maybe offer to let them replace that rusty brake line and leaky radiator, as well as questionable power steering pump and bad clock spring.
  15. Haven't had the IRS call yet, don't think my folks have either, but my sister and I both regularly get the extended warranty calls for her Challenger and my 200, they hang up quick when I tell them I already bought one (as did she, both lifetime as well) when we bought the cars. We do occasionally get the "Microsoft" call, although we all know better. My Mom's Little Sister gets annoyed by them, she doesn't even own a computer, but will get calls saying there are issues with it anyway.
  16. Had my Jeep running for the first time since August, actually started with hardly any issues, that weren't my own fault..........used to my 200 being willing to start if you bump the key over once and having the computer take over. At least it got the oil flowing through the engine before running it. Best part is, only thing that was topped off was the leaky radiator, still had the same gas (E10 87 octane, over a year old), same oil (you don't want to know, but at least it's a 4.0l), same plugs, wires, cap, and rotor even! I did pull the filter to clean it, as that had been years since the last time that happened Unfortunately, while it finaly also has the new brakes on the back, as soon as Dad pushed on the brake pedal, the hard line running to the rear axle failed due to old age and excess rust. Amazingly, the fuel lines appeared to be fine, must be stainless, therefore E15 safe!
  17. Seeing as I recently became unemployed, pay off everything I owe money on and squirrel the remainder away and only spend as needed.
  18. I was really digging that purple one until I got to the nose, kinda fell apart there.
  19. His dodging predated Vietnam, so it's not like he was trying to avoid going there. I think the worst Dad saw was a big city bully that was in with Dad (as would have been Ali) who couldn't handle it and ate his rifle in a training foxhole on base.
  20. Yeah, he pissed Dad off when he did that, Dad was drafted at the same time and actually went in when Ali was supposed to. I kinda wonder if his change in religion was similar to Ted Nugent's various attempts to stay out of the military a few years later.
  21. I typically don't worry about price too much if it's one I want, although considering their selection is poor at best, I don't make any special attempt to visit any of their stores, since they're mostly out of the way for me and the one near work probably doesn't have the selection the HTU I work for has either.
  22. Saw a plain white Mary Kay Chevy Cruze today, with Mary Kay spelled out in chrome finished, stylized plastic lettering on the back bumper (centered over rear bumper) and on the front doors (raked downwards towards the front of the car?!)
  23. I saw something about it and IIRC, it's based around the LS architecture, but the block, heads, crank, and cam are specific to it, for obvious reasons.
  24. I'm reeeeeaaaaalllllllyyyyyyyyyy wanting that to be the underpinnings for the next gen Charger/300. Oh, and if the twin turbo V-6 they've talked about putting in them is the one I think it is, the short block is a 3.0l version of the Pentastar like Bill's Challenger and my 200 use with Ferrari designed top end.
