This one is for my Kid Sister, she bought a Challenger R/T Classic in Plum Crazy at the end of May 2014, speced out what she wanted , which was the performance stuff, but since the color was out of production by then, they found that had some of the more pointless stuff (sun roof, Mopar Package, bigger stereo). Well, as she was clearing it off on her lunch break, anotherChallenger owner, a guy, started more or less questioning ability to handle the car. Kinda pissed her off.

We almost lost her by May, luckily, things worked out for the better and she is healing up from some of her issues, some won't go away, but she's doing well enough that we're planning a road trip to where she grew up for what will likely be the final reunion for high school as well as to visit her family there. I hope things turn out even better for your wife Joe.

That looks like it was a blast! Some years back I had a dad tell me he was looking to build himself a car after his kid's troop put together a "Dad" Class...........which was realisticly, more of an Outlaw Class, as the only thing not allowed was supplimenting Gravity with motorization or thrust.

That's good to hear Joe! Be prepared to run the wheels off that Stang and have a few languishing projects too! Mom spent about 1/2 of last year in a couple hospitals and nursing homes, Dad was up bright and early to go to her side every day if he hadn't stayed night, no matter how far then my sister and I drove there every day we could. From the time I put new tires on my 200 in April to this January, I had put 10k miles on that car!

Thanks Joe, it was tough for Mom and her Sisters (well at least a couple of them, not sure the next oldest living one), but has gotten better over the years. I hope your wife gets better and as quickly as possible.

Sorry to hear about this Joe, Mom lost her eldest sister that way in '98 and I wouldn't wish that on anybody.

What Did You Get Today? (Not Model Related)
Joe Handley replied to LOBBS's topic in The Off-Topic Lounge
Just got these new tires in for the hearse behind it, they're .05" shorter than what's on it now (and about 1/4" taller than OE) while being at least 1/2" wider than current (and at least half again wider than OE). I've got some rims with a 17.5mm backspacing coming in, hopefully the truck will be almost 2" wider than it currently is. -
We've been going up again lately, the BP I've been buying from is currently at $1.74 for regular. There is a new Speedway opened up today not far from work or home too, and they have a somewhat different pump than any other gas station in the area, and not only are all 10 pump assemblies (meaning 20 cars at a time) set up to have Gas, Diesel, and E85, they also have 5 big truck diesel pumps out back and all but one has Diesel Emissions Fluid available at the pumps too! Didn't shoot the Big Truck pumps, but this is what the car and light truck pumps look like. Even though the spread sucks right now, looks like my 200 may have to fall off the wagon and start boozing it up again

Most of the stations around my store was at $1.55 today too.

Got lucky on my last fill up, only paid $1.37 to fill up, won't be so lucky in a couple days when I fill up again.

The slippery slope of banning donk wheels
Joe Handley replied to Lownslow's topic in The Off-Topic Lounge
Somehow I doubt that ProTouring Chevelle will be as competent as my Cherokee (with rear airshocks of it's own) around corners, let alone vs that Vette. Actually, I think that Vette has been terrorizing road courses and cone filled parking lots longer than I've been alive! -

I'll never forget the Ram I saw several uears back that had stacked, yes, stacked blocks in the back! Needless to say, I got away from that truck QUICK! Also seen an old Ford F250 that had a pile of drilled and stacked hockey pucks being used for a body lift (for the record, I'm anti-body lift, period). -
Come summer, my 200 will be boozing it up again, eveything is cheap enough that even is the spread sucks, I'll take the cost per mile loss in favor of the gain in smiles per gallon and cooler running temps in hot weather!

That's what I paid at the BP near work Thursday night, Kane Co. I don't think it's been that low since I bought my Jeep in '03!

Goodbye Scion
Joe Handley replied to martinfan5's topic in General Automotive Talk (Trucks and Cars)
No, other than one being a rebadged Mazda 2 and the FR-S being the near twin of the BRZ, they were all existing Toyotas that were federalized for this market. -
Cheap oil = lower plasic prices?
Joe Handley replied to Mike 1017's topic in General Automotive Talk (Trucks and Cars)
It happened post-9/11, IIRC, the whole industry went bankrupt and looking for concessions, which included the pilots' pensions, now they appear to be making money almost hand over fist. -
new form of doping for cyclists

That's interesting. -

I know a pilot that will be retiring in the next couple years, the bankruptsy killed his pension, but are they going to do anything to correct this with their pilots, probably not. -
NP, just double checking on that.

OK, you put Carol Stream, FL, the snowblower part kinda threw me there. What amazed me is the number pf people who pulled that stuff and had money in the first place. Kinda like the folks who complain about having to cross the Fox River to get to the east side of St. Charles............
