That's weird, we've sold a decent amout of the stuff at the HTU I work at and I've heard nothing but good things on them.

Now that just sounds funny, had to look histerical!

And I thought this was going to be a Kombi with a couple huge pieces of fake toast on the roof!

Mom should finally be coming home from the nursing facility she is currently in tomorrow!!!!! Between 3 of these facilities and the hospital, she's been gone for a loooooooong 3 1/2 months and Dad has been by her side the whole time (many times, literally days at a time!), my Sister and I were there when ever we had a day off or got out of our jobs early enough to not conflict with their visting hours. It'll be nice to have her home, and we'll all probably pass out from exhaustion shortly after we get her situated too!

Guess I shouldn't tell you there will be a new Vacation movie too then, and it won't have that aweful green Ford based wagon in it then........

Saw this again on my way to work today!

2000 is about the time I started noticing a change in the company in how things were done, how the stores were treated and the hours we got. It's also about the time we went from the old, grocery store isle set up to the current set up that most big boxes went to with an outer parimiter of mini isles and a large lump of fragmented sections in the middle that seemed to be a great place to go and get your shoplifting done out of our sight. My little store also ended up with a mini Kids "R" Us that ate up space plus we lost about 2/3rds of our store room with that remodel too.

They still can, at least until the end of the year, the cars are just out of stock at this moment.

Congrats on the upcoming nearby Portillos! Apparently they actually pay decent and have 401k and insurance!

They're still around, but I think they consolidated some after I left. My little store and another area store were closed back in '11 and a larger store was opened in a wealthier area that was between both locations. I haven't been to that one, since it's no closer than the one I was just in.

I was surprised to see them there, they had all but gotten rid of plastic kits by the time I left the store I was at in late '01 and this one had none to speak of when I was last in it during Christmas '13.

I was just at a local TRU and saw that this one had a small plastic section! Mostly the quickbuild snap Revell kits, their new simple build ZL1 and SRT kits, and one of the Ecto 1 kits, I'm going to assume it was a Polar Lights considering the other kits.

I'm just finding the complaints about the kit.......if not a kit in general by those who never built one kinda funny.

Can't wait to see a glamor shot of the new lights once you get the car out back together!

Not sure, but I work with an airsoft guy that swears by the stuff for his gas and CO2 guns as well as ones he fixes four our customers.

Found out after work why Dad had a flat yesterday, somehow, the tire valve back out nearly all the way out of the stem on the right rear.........while it was sitting in the lot at the nursing facility Mom is currently in....... Luckily, since he had to take it to a local NTB since he couldn't find his tool for that, they actually fixed it for free! They also offered to put the tire back on, but he didn't want to press his luck and risk getting charged for that, so he brought it home and swapped it back around himself.

That's always a possiblity, just be happy you found him while he was still kicking.

Pleased, no. With any luck though, his stupidity will be an educational to others so they know not to be stupid, or let others be that stupid in their presence............although with alcohol involved, that's still too much to hope for.....

Dang man, hope everything gets better, but at least everybody is still on this side of the lawn!

What's funny around me is that the West Chicago PD didn't really do much, but from around 12:00-12:30am on, I never heard another boom the last couple nights?! Wonder if they're letting it kinda slide, so long as it's not past midnight.......

Yup, and if those guys suffer any from PTSD and were trying to help us last night, they very well may have spent more time on the ground and/or taking cover on the other side of the van and 200 than anything else while we were changing that flat, it was that close to the station we were in!
