The people trying to make that out to nearly be on par with a war crime.........I actually find myself agreeing with Father Phlaiger (sp?) here.

General Lee that I would like to build
Joe Handley replied to Ben's topic in General Automotive Talk (Trucks and Cars)
What year Challenger? I'll have a Snap GL and a '10 R/T Classic kit at my immediate disposal after work tonight. Not sure of the exact year but one of the new ones, like this Ok, I'll check after dinner then. -

Maybe instead of a true nostalga class, make them run funny cars that actually represent the model they're supposed to look like. If you want 2dr's make them actually look like a Mustang, Challenger, or Camaro. Want something slippery and the number of doors be danged, make them look like the Fusion, Camry, 200, Malibu, ect. Yes, distort them some to fit the chassis, but make them look enough like the model they're based on without resorting to just grill and lights stickers on a blob as an identifier. More Stock in Pro Stock would be good too, instead of everything special and specific, why not build it off a stock platform or at least go back to stock bodywork on a tube frame with an engine that is somewhat related to what's on the street, even if it's made specifically for racing . Then when it comes to EFI vs Carbs, look again at some of the street racers, tuners, hobby racers that don't have as stringent rules and are willing to play with modern technology, there's power to be had in a good EFI system, and not some "lipstick on a pig" TBI nonsense that even GM gave up on by the late 90's either. -
If somebody who wasn't a member of Law Enforcement demanded to see my phone due to them thinking I did something wrong, they might end up being told to kiss off.

Sorry to hear about the infection thing too Harry, Mom has battled those alot and it nearly took her from us this past spring. tThat whole Adobe thing is utter BS and while I'm very open minded on some tech related things, that whole cloud thing is one that I do not trust.

Not really, she managed to pull out in front of me then make no attempt to reach the reduced traveling speeds within a safe time period after getting on the road. I could have set off an air raid siren and she wouldn't have noticed me there.

Hard to be paying attention to one's driving when one is preoccupied with playing with all the neato gadgets in one's car. Use your mirrors? Situational awareness? Are you kidding??? I don't have time to be paying attention to the road. I'm busy shuffling my ipod while I'm making a phone call while I'm checking my nav screen to find the closest Italian restaurant. Come on, Joe... I can only do so many things at once. I'll get back to paying attention to the road as soon as I finish all of these other vitally important tasks... Most of the vehicles who's drivers I've had issues with in the last year have predated $2.00/gallon gas, one I'm pretty sure was reading a book while driving in snow late at night!
-
After tonight, it would be nice if people just used their mirrors and put their heads on swivel from time to time...........just a wee bit of situational awareness, it's all I ask and I'm sure any of the motorcycle riders on here will agree!

Nearly got sideswiped my a pre touchscreen Pontiac Sunfire while heading home from a DQ run for Dad and myself. Apparently the driver didn't notice me coming up from behind on her right..........at around the posted limit! Luckily I had plenty of paved shoulder work with and tires that respond extra, extra well to steering inputs............

Concerning the NHRA TV lineup
Joe Handley replied to Nytrozilla's topic in General Automotive Talk (Trucks and Cars)
If NHRA was truely interested in getting racing on the tracks, maybe do something to make drag racing more accessable. More tracks, more open days at said tracks, maybe make things more affordable. For me, Route 66 is the closest of the three at what Google claims is only a 45 minute drive, why not set up something like take over a local street or runway with the help of the the towns/countys/LEOs like they did back in the early days..........or like Discovery/Street Outlaws currently does. i could care less where theyre racing Grudge racing is more entertaining than that sanctioned BLAH_BLAH_BLAH_BLAH espn and nhra is shoving down people throats Yup, people love a good competition between two angry parties (Even if the anger is fake like it usually is). For example look at how many people are getting riled up for the "Build off" between Gas Monkey Garage and RoadKill. Both sides have intentionally called each other names to drum up a crowd. I'm more interested in seeing a RoadKill and Mighty Car Mods teamup. -

They do seem to have better racing than NHRA any more.............maybe that's part of the reason NHRA had their little tantrum over the show -
Another reason to like older cars!

There are about 1.4million UConnect vehicles that can be hacked, and Chrysler is already taking care of those, not sure what is going on with the Ram buyback, and the Jeep thing is utter BS to me. -
Be glad youndon't one of the new U Connect Access equipped Mopars then Harry, one more thing to update, I've heard that it can take anywhere from 20-45 min to run that in a 2015 200!

From where? Those are the kind of deals that I need. The HobbyTown I work at, we got 6 scratch and dent pallets in with all sorts of stuff, including a few Vicky's, the one I bought had been crunched bad in one corner and I was able to buy it CHEAP. Was the model ok...??? yup, a dead corner got crunched, only flaw I could find was a rear wheel center looked to have been punched through, which had to have been done as it was being taken from the tool.

Oh, they're moving into the 1980s EFI "tech" now.................... -
I don't know what it is about modern appliances, but my parents have a freezer Mom's parents bought 50 years ago and so long as the lid stays shut (not usually a problem, a STRONG magnet holds it shut), things stay very cold. Right next to it is the fridge they bought when they first moved here in the early 70's, same thing and is a spare. Since then, we've had one die, and the current one was acting up a while Mom was in Sycamore and has had 2 handles break. The one at work was bought when my old bosses moved the store across town almost 3 years ago, when my new bosses took over the business in March of '14, it stopped cooling much at all so they had to replace a part (don't remember what one) already! We've even been through a couple stoves and dish washers too. One dish washer was bough when my 33 y/o sister was a baby and it's been replaced twice in the last 12-15 years, the stove I grew up with was bought around the same time the now spare fridge was and also hase been replaced twice since 2000.

Maybe bringing the more common stuff out to play instead. I'd much rather watch street cars or something that looks like street cars running heads up. -
Brought home a new issue AMT '32 Vicky in a slightly crunched box for a princely $5!
